  • As we approach the invisible border between East and West Europe, we arrive in Vienna, a city of vivid colours and cultures. Identity is at the heart of this episode. Nick meets Syrian refugees as they work hard to settle into their new home as well as visiting Naschmarkt, Vienna's most famous market, to experience the tastes of cuisines from different cultures.
A river that flows through 10 countries, starting from Germany's Black Forest and ending in the Black Sea, the Danube is the second-longest river in Europe. Flowing through much of Central and South-eastern Europe, no other river in the world runs through as many countries making it so unique. Containing rich history from World War II and beyond, to offering a variety of wildlife, the Danube is truly an impressive sight. Nick Thorpe takes us on a journey up and down the Danube to explore all the greatness that it holds.
