In this video we can see the installation of the I wall at the Edenville Dam. The I wall will protect the area against erosion and will be the site of the earthen embankment when construction begins on rebuilding the dam. I also walk down and take a look at the Edenville Falls area. The Edenville Dam is located on what used to be Wixom Lake. Wixom Lake is located in Mid Michigan. This footage was filmed on November 29, 2021. This was after the collapse of the Edenville Dam on May 19, 2020. Wixom Lake was rapidly rising due to heavy rainfall and the Edenville dam could not hold back the water. The side of the dam failed sending water rushing towards Sanford Village. The aftermath and damage left behind is devastating. Make sure you subscribe to catch the follow up videos I will be filming.

You are providing a great service for the state, contractors, residents with your fantastic videos. I hope they hired you by now. No one else is doing the progress videos but YOU.
Your a trooper for your community bud. So many disasters since this happened, many would not remember without your dedication. Great work my friend.
Thank you
So it is being rebuilt!?!??!!!! That's awesome!
The plan is to refill the lake and add gates in a couple years
These trees will protect the fish once the dam is filled up again somewhere the fish will be able to anchor down the fish eggs once again happy new year to you and your family over there sand is no good to create a wall where clay will dry up nicely and in time it will harden up like rock sand will suck up water till it cannot hold water anymore they will line the banks with sand as it like a filter and you have clear water love the videos of what is going on out there
Young man you sure have learned a lot about Excavating along with Geology. Good for you bud, when this is over Fisher might Hire You as a Engineer or a Public Relations Position. They are a Phenomenal Construction Company.
Thank you
Definitely like the comparison form year to year
Thanks ,this journey has been a great treat
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow Great Job, you can sure see the Improvements, I bet all the residents will be elated when this is all completed along with Water Levels Back Up.
I hope so!

.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you again Jordan, great work
My pleasure!
looking good
Thanks 👍
Good job,Jordan!
Thank you
Great to see this Jordan. Dumb question any idea why the sheet pile being installed is not all being installed at the same height? Some of those are a lot taller than other ones
They are running into very hard material ( large hard rocks or 'hard-pan' continuous rock) that will not break or spread aside, simply blocking further downward movement of the pile.
Some are longer. Other then that they drive them down until they are in the hard pan
Enjoyed the video! Unclear about the budget for this project. Is it below spending expectations? Is it over budget?
What its the projected completion date now? Keep up the great work!
The estimated cost to repair edenville dam is 121 million and a completion date of 2025-2026. These repairs are more for erosion control at the moment
Awesome !
Thanks!
Jordan, do you know why the pieces of sheet pile are in to different depths? Did they hit rock that stopped the pile from being driven in further? I wonder why they are all not at an equal depth into the ground
Some are longer. Other then that they drive them down until they are in the hard pan
Can t wait jordan!
Built wall should handle amount water
Will the sheet pile stay in place, be buried, and become part of the embankment?
yes it will
Why don't they use all that brush that's growing up in front of the people's houses .by taking some of the old mud brush .take it down the back side of the dam where brush and tree will grow agen .good plant food there.
What is the depth the sheet pilings are being driven to?
They are 20ft sheets if you count the tally's you can calculate how far each was driven.
Why rebuild if it's not generating power
The glacial till that is being stripped, is it on private property or Government property? Was there a deal made to be able to take the glacial till?
The county owns the lake bottoms l believe.
@@robertkelley2780 is it part of the lake where they are digging? I am in NC so I have never seen the lake.
Correct. The county owns the lake bottom and they have a permit to use the sand and glacial till
There's no known oil pockets in the area, is there?🙂
Not that I know of :)
Is the "I" wall a permanent fixture?
Yes it will be incorporated into the new dam
yes it is. This will be where the earthen embankment will be filled back in
What is the purpose of the Iwall?
Immediate purpose is to keep any water from flowing through that area should the river level rise. Long term it will be incorporated into the rebuilt earthen embankment to mostly stop lake water from migrating all the way through the dam to the downstream area.
I had to laugh. I was thinking if there was any gold in the area. Then you talk about how much gold there isn't. LOL< Are you a mind reader?
Haha yes that is funny
What Company is doing the Restoration?
Fisher Contracting
that's three sedimentation ponds in a row.
I don't think flood is a good word to use 😔
