    How do we guard against bias in assessing our strengths and weaknesses so that middle management does not report only what top management wants to hear (the good news) and avoid being shot for bearing bad news? That is, how do we assess strengths and weaknesses "objectively?" Where do we get standards for measures of strengths and weaknesses? Are specific "Key Success Factors" used in this assessment process? How do make sure we are using the correct "factors" that determine success in our particular industry?
