Probably just blindness/low vision rather than *color* blindness--sometimes it's easier to make things out with inverted colors for some people (a girl I sat next to in college who was legally blind used inverted colors on her laptop, for instance).

The reason for inverted color only shows up when you leave the basement. Under direct sunlight, LCD screens reflect more light than they emit, and they reflect precisely the opposite colors as they would allow through from the backlight. So inverse color makes it look right in reflected sunlight.

Basically, you played the same game or watched the same thing so many hours that the highlights of the image of the game/show/whatever would literally burn into the screen. You could see the outlines of the image even when the TV was off. This was very prevalent on crt arcade machines like Pac Man and many others.
You have my permission to go get some cool/ new armor. As many as you'd like. One condition, though. You have to dye at least 3 of them a different color. 2 can be your favorite color or your personal favorite for that specific set. The last one must be dyed PINK, for our amusement 😂

It's more likely for it to be used by someone with a visual impairment I think, rather than colorblindness, because sometimes it makes things pop that don't in standard coloring, and it can reduce visual fatigue/eyestrain in a lot of computer use scenarios where backgrounds and such are more likely to be light colored. (I could see it maybe being useful for some types of colorblindness, that's just not the use case I hear most often. It also wouldn't make a colorblind person see "normally" because there's not some sort of thing that causes the eye's rods and cones to work at some abled "baseline" anyway. It'd just change the colors they're seeing.)
