@@joedge6142 I buy a washing machine every 2 years mate the one I just got is terrible I agree seems to not spin the clothes very well, terrible these new washing machines probably because they made in China lol 😂
As a washing machine engineer of 35 years , residue and scum caused by low temperature and fast washes causes more issues in washing machines then limescale ever does . For temperatures below 50 degrees centigrade use biological detergents. That way you are removing bacteria and germs ... Why you think we now have vanish and dettol additives for washing machine ? Machine washing used to be based on 60 and 90 degrees centigrade washes .
@Lean Mean Cleaning Machine you should run a hot empty wash monthly not an eco wash. It should be 90 degrees for at least 1.5 hours. They sell maintenance washing machine cleaners (I get them from B&M), use it once a month or just run it on empty sometimes with white vinegar. I do regular 60 degree washes with dogs bedding and towels, once a week. No gunk in my machine, no mould and never smells.
I still like to wash towels and bed stuff on hot washes though. Anything else I put on cold washes... even today though most washing machines automatically start at 40 and you have to turn them down to cold wash.
3:15 what is that black and white rolling bar code on the top right of the screen? I've seen it on several older programmes from the UK on this channel and others.
In the UK back in the day, ITV was made up of many different regions. This meant that sometimes Hull may be watching something different to Manchester and London something different to Birmingham on the same channel. The black&white box thing was timing all the regions to put the adverts on... the viewer also knew it was time to get ready to but the kettle on lol.
If a program was networked to other stations around the country it was to warn them to get their own local commercials ready for the up-and-coming commercial break. You would not see it on most TVs of its day as it would be scanned out of the picture. Sometimes during an even older program, you might see one on the left side, this was to warn a videotape operator to get a pre-recorded piece ready as videotape machines of the day could take 15 seconds or so to stabilize the picture properly. They did not need to use it if the piece had been made on film.
My poor Mother had a Twin Tub, who remembers those from back in the day lol. 😂
@@joedge6142 Ours was so loud with the shaking it woke the entire neighbourhood. 😂

My word, Tony was the go to man for presenting back then. Watch how he subtly flirts with Maeve while still informing us about washing machines....
Zanussi were probably delighted when this broadcasted.

Not remotely relevant, but I like her shirt. You don't see that kind of elegant tailoring anymore from the Highstreet.
Ahead of it's time, an item that could have been made today. I wonder if it will catch on now 40 years later.

It means it's coming up to the end of the film reel .You'd always know when you seen that the advertisement were coming on🤣
