@@someguy70 He died first, but still killed red, so I'd call it a draw. Man, it would've been one-sided hadn't cyan dropped so many orange & yellow combos.

These "marble races" are basically an art form more than a game to me at this point. It's just so nice to watch. Hey, I just started making these myself, using Unity I can say it's quite easy! If you have any programming knowledge it will be quick to pick up, and if not, there are plenty of Unity related tutorials online. It comes with a built in physics engine, so all you need to do is create triggers and scripts for your videos logic.
It's great to see these videos and great to see Mikans channel take off. I remember him as a kid walking into programming club. He looked eager to learn. I taught him everything I know and just look where he is today.
True and I think thats bad game balancing. Those combos are supposed to be a bonus to improve your chance of winning. Seek is (kinda) useless before 5 Level but also a win condition from Level 5 and above, so all the other upgrades dont mean anything. So mikan, maybe tweak gravity, so that seek becomes a bonus (e.g. 70% hitrate -> 80% hitrate) and not a game changer? Its like school, you have to pass in all classes.... or you can run very fast with an egg shaped ball in your arms.
Let's analyze this setup a bit. Your defensive capability is determined by N of Barrels and Repair while your offensive capabilities is determined by N of Barrels, Damage, Explosion and Seek. There are two stats that increase your defensive capabilities and four that increases you offensive capabilities. Now, it's not as simple as the offensive capabilities increasing with the power of 4, but your offensive capabilities will increase faster than your defensive as the battle goes on. This means that eventually, the cannons will break trough each other's defenses. In general, MIKAN battles are set up this way. Cyan was in lead early on to almost the end since it had better defensive setup and defense beats offense until much later. However, red had more offense and eventually the importance of offense overtakes the importance of defense and as such, red got the lead near the end. However, even closer to the end cyan suddenly got a significant lead in N of Barrels and that stat is the most powerful as it affects both offense and defense. The battle got fairly even then and a double kill ensued with cyan being destroyed first.
but the seek wins the battle, as cyan lacks the stat and even with most defenses fallen, cyan cant even kill red. the one that reached seek lv 6 first will win the battle.
@@ajbs_alexo_713 5 seek does indeed seem to be the most important threshold. At four, a lot of projectiles miss while at five, only a very few will miss. If the opponent has a large shield, all projectiles will hit and if the opponent has very little shield left, a few projectiles will time out before hitting. Seek 6 may prevent the last few projectiles from timing out.
One thing i notice with MIKAN's videos is that they generally have some sort of "win" button (at least core destructions). That's why comebacks happen so often: We think a team is winning, but it doesn't matter. All that matters is the "win" button.
This one is cool. You can guess what the other color would grt based on the other one. Red was getting more offensive colors, because of this cyan mostly got mostly non offensive, which is why cyan's heal got higher so quickly. But nevertheless it wasn't enough to defend against red.
If Cyan had been able to level up its Seek sooner, I think they'd have won, but they had once or twice that they got the combo to 8 or 9 and couldn't get the last ball to drop in time.
Seek seemed to backfire pretty badly. The ones on good, arcing trajectories pushed themselves really far down because they saw they were 'too high' compared to the core, and then badly undershot it by the end of the flight.
I kinda like how there was an almost natural differentiation in strategy as time went on and unintentionally made this somewhat of an "attacker vs defender" situation. Teal got a very good defense going on early that almost completely countered red's abundance of damage/explosive stats. In the end though, The one that destroyed the opponent's core first won.
I think it would be cool in this to have a defensive winning condition Like being able to expand your walls so far that it could potentially reach the enemy's core and destroy it this way, like in territory war

spoiler alert: technically a draw since both sides died, but technically a red win comeback-ish since red had its shield very low most of the match, while cyan had a almost max shield, and red still managed to destroy cyan's core first.
Cyan's insane repair build got me convinced that Cyan could block anything easily and outlast for the win, because of Red's low repair stat. But Red's offense build was able to easily one shot through Cyan's defenses as Red was able to at least get a high enough repair level to last until the offense power was high enough.

The repair is so strong at the beginning and mid game, as you can see red can't break the strong wall outside cyan. But on late game, when the damage of the bullets become so huge and so does the explosion, the repair shows its weakness. Moreover, the low level of damage and explosion make cyan impossible to win although he only 1 more bullet to the core. But no matter the result is, this is such a good game and red did an insane play against cyan!!!
10:17 Holy crap red was so low, I was sure it was going to die at the drop! Red seemed to focus on getting early combos and powering its weapons, beating blue in everything except healing. Seek Lv5 is MVP. You'll notice that all bullets that miss below the core will expire and do no damage, up until Seek5, and then even the bullets that fall below the core still make contact. Positions: Red: Offensive Cyan: Defensive Power: Red: 9-8-6-5-6 Blue: 7-5-5-8-8 Red outnumbered cyan's repair. With damage, explosions and seekers settings to the roof, red won the 8 repair because of high offensive. Cyan on the other hand, made a major mistake. You see, cyan tried to be defensive. But it didn't attack at the right time. A defensive position can be counter back by a higher offensive (which red did just that). Cyan needs to be buffed by offensive. That's probably the main reason the one that lost did, was because despite the fact they were destroying the other in every metric, none of their projectiles were actually hitting. Honestly just a *tinge* bit frustrating watching like 50% of the projectiles end up missing.
A bit confused by this, Red won and they were the ones "destroying the other in every metric".
Positions:
Red: Offensive
Cyan: Defensive
Power:
Red: 9-8-6-5-6
Blue: 7-5-5-8-8
Red outnumbered cyan's repair. Huge defensive can't win high defensive (sometimes).
Results:
Red: Victory
Cyan: Lost
*Although both cores are destroyed, red destroyed cyan's core first so theoretically (how could i spell that correct), red won.
