Thank You. Madam. Very very Nice
I've been thinking about maintenance of violin lately and now I see this... Thanks for the upload.

Very informative 😊👍
Thanks for watching!
Thanks as always Lauren. This is kind of like a kick in the pants for me. All stuff I know, but that I haven't been practicing. Shame on me. So I need to wipe the rosin dust collection off and I actually bought a little bottle of spray for wiping down the violin to help protect it from the rosin and oils. You know when I went on the road with an 80's rock band after every set I took a rag and wiped down all the instrument strings and then tuned all the guitars and the bass. This was done four or five times every evening. I don't know why I can't seem to carry that over to my own musical endeavors. I've also gotten lax on loosing my bow regularly. I think it may cost about as much to re-hair the bow as what the bow cost me originally. The bow I settled on is a Fiddlerman carbon bow so I may end up ordering another one. Now, one thing I can say about my old violin is that it stays in tune. I check it about once a week and it is rarely out of tune. However, to be honest it is time to change the strings and I have a good set ready to go on, but my fear is that I'll never get the pegs to hold like they are now. Oh, I have to mention that my tuning adjustments are with the fine tuners and not the pegs. I'm afraid of trying to adjust the pegs once I have it in tune. Crazy I know, but it is the novice in me. I guess I need to push the trepidation aside so that I can continue to grow and not fear change. Again, thanks as always.
Thanks for sharing, Jonathan! A good reminder for all of us. It can certainly be difficult to remember to take care of our instrument when we’re so busy learning tunes!
What type of bow that you can re hair would you recommend? 😄
Can you help us how to arrange strings on the bridge, I could not get any guideline, how distant the strings should be apart from each other. Since I often hit unwanted strings while playing 😒
For me the G and E strings are positioned at 6mm from the bridge edge and the D and A strings are 8mm apart from each other as well as from the G and E strings. There are videos on fitting a bridge that involves shaping and placing the bridge. There are also bridges that you can buy which are pre-shaped and have string notches/guides on the top for string placement. I hope this helps you out some.
@@cervus-venator Thank you for this information, the pre-marked bridges were not helpful, my bow hits two strings, and its hard to avoid often 🤔
Do u loosen strings between plays??
