Everyone’s talking about Sera, but Vivienne’s scene really gets to me, it’s subtler but her tone and the horror in her voice is so different from her usual manner
I agree. I think her's is the most upsetting, because she's completely given up faith in the Maker (which she'd have to be pretty devout to be in the running for Divine) in a very matter of fact way. She's not saying he's not there, or asking why he'd have allowed this. She just believes he doesn't care. Which is...bleak, and telling. Especially in contrast with Cassandra who still allows your return to fan a spark of hope and faith.
I think this is the part where Thedas knows how much anger Vivienne's bottling up underneath that mask. Think of the Disney's Let it Go, but frighteningly violent. No one can dictate how Vivienne can live her own life.
Someone made an interesting point in a tumblr post about how well Varric seems to handle being imprisoned and exposed to red lyrium for over a year, how him keeping things light and bringing some levity to a situation is how he copes with all the bad shit thats happened. He seems ok, but its an act: he's hurting as bad as everyone else. Which makes me sad because he's always doing that... Ouch.
He probably spent a lot of time wondering if this is what it felt like for his brother, succumbing to the red lyrium madness, wishing it would all end.

For everyone in the comments wondering why Solas didn't just stop Corypheus himself, he was too weak. If he had that kind of power, why would he bother joining the Inquisition at all? He doesn't regain his full power until _six whole years_ have passed. He wakes one year before joining the Inquisition, where, according to the lore, he's so weak he can barely cast a simple spell. In fact, his impatience with his weak state is why all of this happens in the first place. He's too weak to destory the Veil himself, so he gives his orb to Corypheus to act as a conduit. Then the events of the main game span over roughly three years. Then, by the end of Trespasser, two years have passed. By that point he'd taken Mythal's power, which rejuvenated him, and he had more time to gain his strength. If I had to guess, he's still weakened by the time you reach Redcliff. (I mean you're only level... what 10 at the most?) This option was so much better than the Templar option. Thanks for sharing. I just wish their was someone you could have recruited from this side of the story. You get Barris from the templar side but no one from this one.
Well, in post game he says he wsa still weak after waking, plus the Orb seems to augment Corypheus' powers, so maybe he really couldn't do anything about his rise to power.
Considering how powerful he is that solas there might actually be the solas from your time pretending to be caught, just to nudge you further along the path to recovering the orb.
Aside from the whole distortion because of the Red Lyrium, did anyone else hear Blackwall's voice differently without his beard? To me his voice was more high-pitched and younger without the beard, but with it, he is back to the normal gruff old liar.
"This conversation has taken a turn for the moronic." I love Dorian. I hate that the quests make you choose whether you get Dorian or Cole as a companion first. I wish Cole had a bit in this.
God, this is easily one of the most painful quests in the game. Seeing everyone so beaten down and defeated, it's awful. I especially feel bad for Sera, god, you can see just how terrified she is. Seeing Sera go from that cocky foul-mouthed half-elf (or was she full elf? I don't remember) to this scared shrinking girl is horrible.
So something that has confused me is that after this section when you meet Alexisis he says he has tried several times to fix things in the past. Which led me to wonder, how did the Inquistor know about the sacrifice?
I'm guessing you've already learnt this. They didn't, the Inquisitor knew nothing about the sacrifice. You learn this in the beginning of the game. The Divine called out for help, the Inquisitor heard and went to help. Make sense?
It's have been interesting to see what Cole says if he were in your party at the time. Then again I'm kinda glad he isn't. They'd have tortured the sweet cinnamon roll. 😢
Cole's a spirit. Corypheus would just make him a thrall with a wrist flick, rather than bothering to ,ake him into a lyrium factory (if he even could be). Also, there is a book, and Cole appears as the "Ghost of the Spire", which Vivienne figures out in one of party banters.

What's worse is that leliana was right. It happened. All your companions died except from dorian from the red lyrium. We only went back to a point in time before it happened but that doesn't mean that time line just disappeared. Its still happening even whilst we play the game. All of the original companions passed away. I needed some time after this mission when this sunk in.

He hasn't got any of his powers right now so he's completely mortal, it took him taking Mythals power and 2 years with it for him to regain his power, so 1 year being poisoned by red lyrium likely wouldn't bring his powers back.
(Spoilers for DAI you never know beware:......................) I bet Solas is just kicking himself, eh? "You should not have given your orb to Corypheus, Dread Wolf..." first time he creates the Veil and destroys his people, the second time the Veil is torn open and the world burns in raw chaos and things still suck. SOLAS. Pride, just stop doing things. You're bad at it.
does anyone know what sort of edits were done to the audio of the voices of those infected with red lyrium? i love corruption voice effects but cant figure out how to do them
I kinda like the Templar quest more but I hate the way those two different options were implemented. It's reasonable of you to go to Redcliff and check out on the mages first, considering this part of the game is free to explore (doesn't require power points), so it's more accessible. But if you get to the templars after meeting with Alexius and Dorian, Dorian will have a pretty big disapproval when recruited. Then he gets that letter about Felix and he doesn't even have a clue of what happened to him, his close friend, Felix just disappears and most probably dies. Also, it makes much more sense to deal with Alexius, after all, it's a foreign, and not a prticularly friendly one, with pretty inauspicious intentions at the heart of Ferelden, while templars just dug in in their fortress and god knows what are they doing there. It just feels like there is too much to lose when you decide to abandon the mages and go for the templars instead, even if templar quest is - in my opinion at least - is more interesting and it gives you better rewards (the amulet that gives you barrier is pretty cool). But I can't just abandon Dorian and Felix and wait for Dorian later in the game to take him in. I wish the mages and templars plot lines were more intertwined or that we could do them one after another with more different choices.

My Inquisitor. If that's the way you feel Vivi, stay and be damned.. I'm outa here!
Solas: "This Alexius controls an Army of Demons! Grr.. Who would do such a thing 😅"
2:26 " I am dying but no matter. " for the sake of the whole world, you should have listened to him and left him in his frigging cell.
This option was so much better than the Templar option. Thanks for sharing. I just wish their was someone you could have recruited from this side of the story. You get Barris from the templar side but no one from this one.
Zachary Kawaley-Lathan we get Fiona wym
i could never quite understand how this comes to be with Solas around, unless he is just truly that inept.
If Solas was that powerful, he wouldn't have needed to pretend at all.
I like to think he is inept.
Or the Hero of Ferelden. Or Morrigan. Or Mythal. Or Hawke who has already mollywhopped Corypheus once.
Blackwall sounds broken. :( Even Dorian is taking pity, that means something !
Varrick is... surprisingly calm. Huh.
Also where is Blackwall's beard?
To be fair, after everything in Kirkwall, this is just one more bad weekend for him.
Oh
my
god
Who the fuck had the cruelty to shave Blackwall?! How can he keep that name now?! Those Monsters! D:
Verric gets pyt in a shitty situation and hes still making jokes and being himself. I love Verrics character.
So they've seen an entire Demon Army, a Darkspawn achieve godhood, but time magic is completely unbelievable to most of them?
Time magic is normally impossible, the breach broke the world that badly.
WHY DID YOU GIVE THAT EGG SOLAS HAIR!?!?!?!😨😱😵😫
Make sense?
I wonder what has to happen for Blackwall to be clean shaven. In my playthrough he wasn't, he still had his beard.
It's have been interesting to see what Cole says if he were in your party at the time.
Then again I'm kinda glad he isn't. They'd have tortured the sweet cinnamon roll. 😢
He was already tortured to death in the books. No need to put him through anymore.
@@Logan-yp9zc There are books?
Cole's a spirit. Corypheus would just make him a thrall with a wrist flick, rather than bothering to ,ake him into a lyrium factory (if he even could be).
Also, there is a book, and Cole appears as the "Ghost of the Spire", which Vivienne figures out in one of party banters.
4:10 open the CC "African died spit in their faces"
Jay Zie *shows Vivian in next scene
Why does Blackwall without beard look like Joaquin Phoenix as Joker? Now I can't unsee this.
Give Blackwall his beard back I am begging you
5:35
HIS BEAR YOUR LITTLE SHIT U CUT HIS BEAR
Dont worry blackwolf we are gona travel to te present to avoid they cut your Marvelous Bear, and probably avoid celine death but only if we have time
What's worse is that leliana was right. It happened. All your companions died except from dorian from the red lyrium. We only went back to a point in time before it happened but that doesn't mean that time line just disappeared. Its still happening even whilst we play the game. All of the original companions passed away. I needed some time after this mission when this sunk in.
Where's the beard?
Sera is so adorable, my poor baby. ❤️
Fr though this section was way better than what you get for siding with the templars
That one heavily moded DAI.
"Cool Alexius sounds good" - Iron Bull
whoa whoa!! They shave Blackwall??? I've never taken him with me on that mission, that's crazy!
This path was so creepy the first time I did this blind.
Blackwall looks so strange without his beard.
Solas and Blackwall bonding over sticking beard hair on Solas' head
Aww poor Sera she's so scared :(
soon as i heard sera reacting to seeing the inquisitor i was like
awww she sounds so scared......there aint a arrow big enough for the elder one for causing this
I KNOW I love this stage of the quest because it gives such good insight into your companions personalities
I don't feel as bad considering how much she refuses to believe when given proof.
@@chriskoloski32 Trauma is rarely logical.
spoiler-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> so the great dread wolf is dying from being in prison with lyrium??? maybe hes weaker but became more powerful after draining mythals life force??? i thought mythal was the mother of the elves and justice... wtf solas
He hasn't got any of his powers right now so he's completely mortal, it took him taking Mythals power and 2 years with it for him to regain his power, so 1 year being poisoned by red lyrium likely wouldn't bring his powers back.
Alexius shaved my man blackwall HIMSELF what a cruel villain
D-does Solas have a low cut?
You put that beard back where it came from or so help me
I knew the future without beating Corypheus would be bad, but Blackwall without beard is straight up terrible.
You're bad at it.
ive never understood why in this alternate time line solas couldn't have eventually stopped this being the dread wolf and all
Thank you for the video.
Wow your character is beautyful😍
does anyone know what sort of edits were done to the audio of the voices of those infected with red lyrium? i love corruption voice effects but cant figure out how to do them
Cassandra's voice makes me soft :(
Maker, Blackwall without a beard looks like Loghain
Looks like Blackwall's beard went on vacation.
2:24 Omg 😅 “Oh, I’m dying horribly, but meh”
God those mods fit so perfectly!
The fact they all have the same haircut kill me
Did the Venatori shave Blackwall? Now that’s torture!
5:37 who is that guy?
Blackwall, I think?
He modded it to take the beard off. Gross.
Your mum
So not even the warden and hawke could stop this from happening....
What makes people think they stood a chance against him is beyond me, especially the Warden.
Knowing what we know about Solas, I don't get how he was imprisoned at all.
