We appreciate your perspectives and the warriors you have honored in your "Untold Stories of Sickle Cell Disease" . I am encouraged by the strength each person presents. I am also inspired by the truth you portray by showing that Sickle Cell is not a African only disease. We admire the information shared by patients. That over all is the most valid, information shared by those affected and impacted. Much Love!
My love and prayers to all warriors (sickle cell) u didn't not choose to be born with the disease but just happened may the good lord keep you strong and free from the pain.

One of the young ladies put it quit good. She said, she doesn't let it dictate her life. It is so important to know the disease, but also know your body and triggers. I am a 55, God willing...56 this April year old Christian woman, who number 1. trust in God's word that no matter what happens, Jesus is with me. So, I don't fear Sickle Cell. But I don't take it for granted either. I eat generally nutrientally. I drink a lot of water. Dress according to the weather. I live in a cold weather area, so I literally at times have to wear turtle necks even when other around me enjoy short sleeves. Also, I have to watch too much hot days. I have too stay hydrated. Everything is planned. I can't overly exercise, can't have too many things with caffeine because that is a de-hydrant. So you really must educate yourself as well. Peace and love
