Set your scope to ac coupling, 1v scale and measure battery post voltage, you get the same pattern without needing an amp clamp. Note that the waveform will be inverted as you are measuring voltage and not current, so the peaks are along the bottom unless you adjust the scope. Not quite as detailed but works well enough.
What you come to our garage in Southend and run a training course I have a modis ultra and want to get into scoping . But I have no clue on what I’m doing and how to use it
A few things that are not noted, warm up the engine then shut it off . remove the power source to the fuel pump so your not doing a fuel in the cylinders " WET " compression test . Also make sure the throttle is wide open while cranking for 3-5 seconds . The throttle being open really does make a difference.
This is just an expensive way of diagnostic compression test, what I usually do it just listen to the sound see if this sounds consistent enough for all cylinders.
your the only person showing the high amp clamp use and it was explained perfectly thanks.
Fantastic job
Kevin your a bloody star weeks I’ve been trying to set it up followed your video and it’s spot on
Trevor thank you ! Excellent lesson again...😃

Very informative. Good video!
Would be good if the camera guy/presenter didn't have the mic hidden inside his coat so the demo guy could also be heard.
Good stuff, keep it coming!
