Second : he neglected her because of his career. Again, this is something I can still understand though as I think that sometimes, it’s really hard to have both career and love
Separately, these two points aren’t that bad but together, I thibk it’s already more than enough to stop a relationship
BUT most importantly : he didn’t treat her as his equal. She said it herself, he didn’t see her as someone who could work the same path as him or could be in the same position. Do you remember his first reaction when she told him she was gonna be a professional player ? He laughed at it, saying a girl couldn’t be a professional player (and sorry, but for me, the chauvinism here would be enough to make me dump him). And when he learnt that she was gonna play in ZDGK, he told her that had he known, he would have let them win as a gift to her, to help her career. He did love her. But he clearly never believed in her. When they were going out, he didn’t even update her about what was going on his career because he didn’t see her as someone who could really support him : just like she said, he didn’t think she could walk that path with him. It was only when he was presented with the fait accompli that he understood her potential.
I think that his biggest mistake was that he didn’t really understand her when he was still with her. He did love her but he didn’t see her full potential and that she wanted to be treated as his partner, not just as his « girl », until it was too late
He's not a scumbag, he's just not over her in the beginning. He does let her go and wishes her happiness but he never does anything to the main couple. Leave him alone he's a good kid.

I feel like he is actually a hypocrite. He only apologized when he saw her joined the industry. Matter of fact, his first reaction to seeing her again was anger and doubt that she's there to pester him. He has years to apologized to her. She was also the one holding onto the relationship and supporting him continuously. Until he rarely replied to her, to suddenly stopping. Only then she realized, "that's it. I tried." They probably didn't see each other when they broke up. I suspected she just sent him a break up message and he probably didn't even reply.
