One of the best things of your reviews is that they are QUICKLY and still showing the essential things and the details. Thank you for value our time hahaha
Thanks for the review, I just bought a set. But it isn't odd that the mixing tray is white-otherwise you couldn't see the paints there! Also the "interference" pigments show on white when they are painted over another color-I believe that is what they are for, and hence the name?
Hehe! Thank you!! I love palettes with new and different color selections and I'm always curious about them! Plus I know that the VanGogh paints are rather nice ;)
They look nice. I do use these kind of colours, and these interest me because of the interference colours. They seem quite affordable and I have been impressed with the boxes you have reviewed, for student colours they hold up very well.
I'm also struggling to use them (but I'm working on finding ways to incorporate them into paintings). I'll make a video about it when I feel like I've found enough ideas :)
I came back to this review that I saw when you posted it. Now I have the box myself and I'm swatching the paints and making notes of the pigments and, girl, I'm so grate for your colourchart, because I can hardly read the tiny font on those wrappers, white on pale blue... Thank god for giving use EVE (hahaha - not being biblical) and that chart. The colours are nice, yes. I'm spoiled though because I also have the Schmincke's goldmetallics and pearlmetallics... but I guess I can use Van Gogh for some and Schmincke for some fancier. Or so... So thank you very much for the review, and all the reviews you do. I watch them all. You see, and then months after I still know... Happy holidays, Eve.
Happy holidays to you too!! :) I think that with the Schmincke metallics and these, you have a really complete selection to add a shimmer to anything you might want to. :) And thank you very much for watching the videos, it means a lot to me :)
You should try coliro/finetec paints, they actually deliver on the promise of metallic effects and are far stronger. They swatched their entire collection on UA-cam which makes it much easier to choose which ones to get.
Black watercolour ground?? Oh my god!! Does it mean you can just cover a normal sheet of paper with it and it will act as a black paper without black layer mixing with other colours? As for the review, thank you very much for those close-ups! They are amazing and so satisfying to look at! It's rare that you can have such a realistic overview online
Thank you! :D And yes, you can use the black watercolor ground on regular watercolor paper and it dries permanent. I didn't see any reactivation going on when I painted these swatches :)
I dont think its odd that the removable tray is white tho isnt that good and common? So you can see the color no? Or is it because its better to see metallic colors on black? Edit: ooooh it is sorry didnt finsih watching the whole video when commenting but i got confused why a white tray was odd
I saw these paints a few months ago on a store. Apparently Van Gogh also made a black watercolour paper for these paints. Sadly, I couldn't buy it and didn't try it.
this video made me sad, because i have those but not with me right now, damn you covid!! and I have been without them for to months... and I dont know when I can retrive them!! TnT

Hehe, glad you like them! :D
I'm not very good at making long videos!
Great review. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Just got this set for Christmas from my nephew. Thank you so much for your review!
Hope you enjoy it! :)

I don't know what made you decide to review all of these, but I'm so glad you did!! :)

I love how you swatched them out, so visually appealing!✨
Thanks!! I'm glad I started using black watercolor ground for swatches, it's such a nice surface for FX paints :3
I had no idea there was black watercolor ground until today considering my world blown.
It's pretty neat!!! I'm excited to play with it more!
i just bought them...its more a collective item than a really useful art supply...it is nice

I have quite a few shimmery paints and inks- thank you got this review because now this Set is calling my name! Lol!
Hehe!! Oh no! I have to say, it's a really fun set! The metallic colors are surprisingly good!
Gorgeous swatch!! You've done a great work, a great vid! Thanks a lot
Wow! this is the first shimmer/metallic/etc pallet that has actually tempted me. all of those colors are gorgeous.
they look great
Can you post a video of painting with the shimmery paints on white background? I am having trouble using them.
I'm also struggling to use them (but I'm working on finding ways to incorporate them into paintings). I'll make a video about it when I feel like I've found enough ideas :)
I really like them a lot.
Love the colors
They are really nice! :)
They look pretty indeed and although I like shimmery paints and own some of them, I rarely use them. Still, they are very pretty to look at!

I've tried the Coliro paints! I did a video or two swatching all of the ones I had :) They are very nice!
There s also Van Gogh black student quality black watercolorpaper
There is! Have you tried it?
Im curious to know how this would look mixed with standard colors of watercolor.
