This console was sent to me for the TRRS AV mod, but was not working properly initially.
Video shows steps taken to find a bad sram video ram and PPU ICs and one trace that I accidentally cut while doing the AV mod.
A lot of irrelevant scenes were cut to keep it short, but nearly all ICs were pulled and tested before I found the last issue of the trace being cut!

Wouldnt a cold solder joint cause that also. If your tapping and stuff?
I like all these videos. Very cool and informative

Those traces will trick ya every time. I'm not sure which cutters you use. I prefer the Xuron 410 Micro-Shear cutters. I find that turning them upside down (flip them over) when cutting the pin helps clear the traces and give a better angle. Might help you in the future

That's what happened to my toploader, someone had cut the IRQ trace, possibly trying to fix the white screen caused by the 72pin socket, and didn't notice the extra cut. They used a wire to rejoin IRQ but must have ditched the toploader when it still wouldn't work. Alerted by the wire, I spotted the damage and added another wire to restore that trace and games both play now. Sweet for $8 and a little work

I've pretty much always used donor nes's for replacement ICs.
The ram may be found new though, especially if it's the .6" wide kind, just use the numbers on the original ram ICs.
