I honestly thought the komodo dragon thing was real until now.
I mean, injuring something so they get too weak to run away for long then slooowly following them at a comfortable pace is what it is said WE used for hunting.
Turns out the endurance hunter thing may not be true either, as there is not much to support it. If you think about it, following an animal for 5-10 miles while it dies, trying not to end up lost, and then walking back that distance carrying the carcass does not sound terribly efficient.

@@louisrobitaille5810With a lot of UA-cam channels like Casual Geographic’s I always take what they present with a pinch of salt when it comes to certain things. The way in which a lot of his videos are presented are clearly skewed more for entertainment and shortness of time (I like that he’s doing more long form content now though) meaning a lot of the information being presented is generalized and often that means certain seemingly minor details are occluded. I believe in one of his videos he brings up the subject of coyotes being able to interbreed with wolves and dogs and the way it’s presented implies that all coyotes can have hybrid offspring with dogs or wolves. I looked into this by reading through a few published journal articles done by researchers on this subject and what I found was that apparently only some coyotes are capable of interbreeding. They also stated that they don’t know why it is that some are capable of this and others are not as it’s seemingly random.
@@louisrobitaille5810 Success and intelligence actually rarely go hand in hand. There certainly are exceptions but if you look at most billionaires they actually have pretty mediocre IQs. What sets them apart is drive and sadly often also a lack of empathy.

Yeah my cat currently on my lap can testify about the severe injury from higher up, fell asleep on the window like most of my cats did, problem is, he's frightened way too easily, siblings started to fight, he got scared and fell off window, we had to take him to the vet, he broke his femur and needed implant, that was 12 years ago, he's completely fine for those of you worried about complications.
You know, we have a lot of those kinda walls in New England, though a lot of em are knee to hip height. Apparently their purpose is to slow down raids and funnel people towards a specific points, since jumping over them can leave you vulnerable in a fight or cause unnecessary noise when you're sneaking. Pretty neat
