This is soooo helpful. Thank you for sharing. We were just thinking about doing that for every contact without having to use a group text. Group text becomes a mess and everyone wants to exit out of it and then people start having other conversations and it becomes a mess.

Nice! Solve this one. How do you send individual messages to a list of random phone numbers stacked from a text file or say copied from a long column in an excel spreadsheet cut and pasted through say iNotes. These phone numbers are not in your 'Contacts' and you don't want to add them to your contacts

Yes you can mass text iPhones and androids. Also. They do have to be in your address book. I can show you some different ways to text phone numbers not in your address book. New method compatible with iOS 14 coming hopefully this week.

Do you know if apple removed the avility to pass the phone number variable into the message command. My iPad and phone wont give me that option. It keeps asking me to type in the recipient name for each message.
I figured it out. You have to hold and press on "RECIPIENT" then you can pass a variable. The thing I noticed was that if you have more than one number in that contact, then it will add both phone numbers. For example, if you have Mobile and Office Phone, it will add both. Any suggestions on how to just add the mobile number and not both?
Corey can you make this video again for today's version? I tried following along but several things are different. I am not sure why you have to have contacts at the top, if then you also have to choose the recipient in the text message. I want to be able to send a mass text message /the same message to 40-50 people, but individually so it's not in a group text. (which is what you are doing)
I'm trying this on iOS 13.5.1 but it doesn't seem to work with picking up only the 1st name of the person you want to send the message to per each message. If I send it to 5 people it takes all 5 1st names and puts them in the message instead of 1 per whoever the message goes to.
Hey this worked flawless for about the first 200 text, days later I tried again for other groups in my contact as I will be using this for a business. Now each time I run it I get "could not run Send Message There was a problem communicating with the app. Only way it works now is by using Show When Run and manually clicking each person. Any fix for this?? Thanks!!!!
I'm having the same problem as well. Every since I updated my phone it does this. Before I just pick the names & watch it work. Now I have to send it contact by contact. So frustrating.

I know this is over a year late but I hope you can respond and help me 💛 I keep running into the issue of my message not being sent individually it keeps creating a mass MMS. I’ve followed your steps exactly and tweaked some for my update (13.4.1) and it boils down to me being unable to specify recipients by the “phone number” choice you were able to make. Is there a way to filter the contact phone numbers, so that the text only gets sent to people who have a “mobile” or “iPhone” label to their numbers?

One time setup. Only thing you would need to do is change the message if you wanted it to be something different.
Also. There’s a newer video on the channel with steps that work with the latest version of iOS.

Correct. It’s not sending one text with 50 people on the recipients list. It’s sending 50 unique texts to each individual person.

Does the recipient know they are in a group text. can the see the list of phones and if they reply will their rely go to everyone in the group?

I cant get the scripting in Recipients to work now. To pull each contact and send separate messages. Did Apple disable that?

what is the maximum recipients? Ive selected 50++ recipients but it only goes for 7 in one run. Is there anything i could adjust it?

I have the XR and when I open Shortcuts it lets me add a shortcut but it won’t let me add contacts

You can. But you cannot automatically send the photo. You’d have to click “send” each time.
