  • Vanlife in Morocco. First of the travels in Morocco. Visiting Fahs-Anjra, Asilah, Kenitra, El Mansouria, Oualidia, Lamaachate, Safi, Sidi Kaouki. Stray Dogs, Gravel Bike rides, markets and general vanlife in Morocco.
Mick, Sarah, and Luna’s journey through Morocco began with a sense of adventure and curiosity, marking the start of their vanlife journey along the coast. They first stopped near Fahs-Anjra, just 10 minutes from the port, finding a peaceful park-up spot right by the beach. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore provided the perfect backdrop for their first night in Morocco, offering both safety and serenity.
Their journey then led them down the coast, where they took the toll roads to a paid campsite. The paid sites offered some comfort, but it was the wild park-up near Kenitra that really stood out. Tucked away in the countryside, they parked near a friendly local farmer who shared stories of the land, making it a memorable stop. As they continued to explore, they passed through the lively markets of Asilah, where vibrant colors, spices, and the hustle of daily life added to the flavour of Morocco.
The gravel bike rides became an exciting way to explore the more remote parts of the country, offering Mick and Sarah an intimate view of rural Morocco, with its sprawling landscapes and occasional encounters with stray dogs that roamed freely. The peaceful, rugged beauty of Oualidia and El Mansouria made for tranquil stops as they navigated the road less traveled.
With the year drawing to a close, Mick and Sarah wondered what New Year’s Eve would feel like in Morocco. Would it be like the lively celebrations of Europe or a more subdued, local affair? As they made their way toward Safi and Sidi Kaouki, they were both excited and curious to discover how the locals marked the occasion.
In Morocco, it wasn’t just about the landscapes and cities. The rhythm of vanlife - from the quiet evenings to the friendly exchanges with farmers, and the contrasting experiences of bustling markets and remote park-ups - was already shaping up to be a journey full of contrasts and discoveries.
