Dr. Shadrach Meshach (S.M.) Lockridge (March 7, 1913 - April 4, 2000)
Shadrach Meshach Lockridge was born March 7, 1913, in Robertson County, Texas, the oldest of eight children and son of a Baptist minister. A graduate of Bishop College in Marshall, Texas, he worked for two years as a high school English teacher. In 1940 in Dallas, he felt led to preach. In 1941 he married Virgil Mae Thomas but they never had any children.
His Ministry
In 1942, he accepted his first pastorate at Fourth Ward Baptist Church in Ennis, Texas. In August 1952, he was named pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in San Diego where he served until retiring in 1993.
During Dr. Lockridge’s tenure at Calvary Baptist, a predominantly African-American congregation, his ministry touched the lives of more than 100,000 people. He preached at crusades, revivals, religious rallies and evangelistic conferences around the world.
He also served in key regional, state and national positions with the Baptist Church, including being elected the first president of the National Missionary Baptist Convention of America.
He held doctorates and numerous honorary degrees and was often sought as a public speaker, even after he retired in 1993. He served as guest lecturer at numerous schools and universities and on the faculty of several others, including the Billy Graham School of Evangelism.
Dr. Lockridge was active in the civil rights movement, and under his leadership Calvary Baptist hosted several of its leaders, including Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Rev. Jesse Jackson.

Every time I hear this sermon I get a new revelation EVERY time. That’s how I know it’s based on the LIVING WORD!
This is conviction . Maybe every believer should listen to this, first thing in the morning - before they set out.
Amen brother! It is getting darker and darker in this world. The darker it gets' the brighter CHRIST JESUS is becoming. We must allow HIS light to shine through us and point to HIM our true and only SAVIOR. In peace, truth and love.

Thanks so much for posting. I first saw and heard a similar video before a church service in San Diego. My life was a a very low point. My faith told me to help another person, which I did as a caregiver. From this video I got the idea that we may only have one sentence to bring someone to their salvation through Jesus. Rev. Dr. S.M. Lockridge was gifted with an incredible preaching genius. Rest in peace.

This is the best video I've seen on youtube, God Truth. S.M. Lockridge, is my uncle, was Pastor of Calvary Baptist church San Diego ca was President of the southern Baptist Convention. He was to me, was the best pastor I have ever heard, growing up it felt like John The Baptist spirit was in is hold life. He was bigger then life when he preached, the atmosphere changed you actually felt the holy spirit, and I believe even 8f you weren't a believer, you still felt the holy spirit. If you put on that sermon close your eyes and just listen,,,, you can hear God the holy spirit speak to you. I can go on and on..

If you are a Christian then you know who this king is - the world does not know this king and it struck me very odd that not one time did he say the Name - JESUS
I have this thing with handle bars, it has pedals and a chain. I sit on the seat and pedal it. With handle bars, I am steering it. I push the pedals and I'm moving it. I squeeze the brake and I'm stopping it. I pedal harder and it speeds up. I click the gears and they shift up, so I can pedal harder and speed it up. It's wheels go round and round. The tires go flat and it slows down. Pump them up and it's good again, it makes some squeaks, so oil the chain. We've all seen one, probably ridden one. It has 2 wheels and rubber tires, gears and handle bars. I wish I could describe it but I can't.

Cyclists don't need you to tell them that their bike is a bicycle, neither do Christians need to be told that their KING IS JESUS.

My KING was born as a Jew. Jerusalem, on the Mount of Olives is where Yeshua's Ascension took place. That is where He will put HIS foot on HIS return and cleave the Mount in half. Israel is GOD'S (Yod Heh Waw Heh) land that HE gave to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Israel is not a nation but a promised covenant between Yahweh and HIS chosen people. The Israelites. Genesis 15:18-21.

He was emotional because he was passionate about what he was saying. You can feel that he believed what he was preaching. When you love Jesus, you can't help but to be emotional.
