this video is awesome for two reasons: 1. It's the first time I really hear Tony talking and 2. Its really interesting and its nice to listen to such stuff :D
I like PTV's guitar work in all of their albums, they sound so different, they've incorporated their culture and prog-punk-rock into it which makes them unique from other bands that boomed in their generation.
Just spent the most amazing 500 dollars of my life. Tony's slimer green viper. can't wait till it gets here. just want to hang it on my wall to be honest.
I love videos like this because I want to make music similar to PTV's style, so being able to see the type of stuff they use is extremely helpful and interesting
I love that most of these interviews have comments from people who know what everyone is talking about, but these comments are just people who have no bloody clue whats going on except for the fact that Tony is talking in an interview for once
"somehow it got on the internet and got leaked" TURTLE WE ALL KNOW IT WAS YOU WHO POSTED IT ON MYSPACE VIC ALREADY TOLD US YOU CAN STAHP LYING luv you Tony
5:43 Welp this had all the exact info I was looking for. Great video. Was wondering if they used baritones for those Drop B tunes. I wanna learn to play them but I just have regular scale guitars. I do have beefy slinky strings on one of mine though so it's cool to hear that Tony would do that before he actually got a baritone for live shows.
You guys should definitely do a new rig rundown with these guys. I know they have been playing a bunch of different guitars these days. Biggest change being tony no longer playing esp
how does he hold a guitar so effortlessly???? like it doesn't even look heavy!! I play guitar and I know that guitars aren't that light!!!! they dont weigh a ton but like... seriously
Maxon TS808 into a Peavey 6505. One of the guitarists (Ben, I believe) also has a signature amp sim plugin that's surprisingly good, given that he's kind of a shit guitarist. Both guitarists have signature Ibanez's as well. There you go.
Orange Rockerverb 100 Orange AD30 Orange PPC412 Matt: shit ton of Gibsons and some Fenders Sam: A couple LTD EC 1000 Fil: Mark Hoppus Jazz bass, Fender Jazz bass, Ernie Ball Sterling bass Orange AD200B Orange OBC810 Orange OBC410 That's about all I know.
Gabe Burciaga depends what type of music you play and how many guitars you have. I play with 3 different guitars as my mains depending on the tuning, when I'm playing technical death metal in drop A i never use a tone knob or a neck pickup. But too each his own
I play death metal as well as prog rock/metal type stuff and I tend to use the tone pot as a lead boost. I set the tone base at about halfway then when the time comes I just crank it. But there is also no right or wrong way to make art so to each his own.
Bucket list goal #1... Be on Rig Rundown! Deff not a fan of the colors on the ESP"s!! I wish someone would have a awesome looking signature viper! Most of the ones I see are blah...
THEY DO KISSING IN CARS?!! Holy shit! Why? What? When? How? When did that start? Do they still play it? Update: Never mind, all my questions were answered when I unpaused. 😂😂😂
I love how he's so shy but when he talks about something he's so passionate about, he can just talk forever. It's so cute!
HE SPOKE FOR 13 MINUTES BY HIMSELF THIS IS GREAT
13 minutes of just tony talking about his passion😍😍 i love this
"Let's dive right into it" when the interviewer accidentally makes a pun about the band he's interviewing
That's the first thing I noticed lmao
Me too^^
I don't get what the pun was
Andrew Pappas the first song on their album Misadventures is titled “Dive In”
YoungWinston Oh, I've never listened to these guys so I didn't get it. Thanks though
learning more about their instruments and hearing them talk about it so technically makes me appreciate their music even more. great interview dude
"so technically"
tammy n. You should learn to play
Agreed
"here's a really dumb question but i'll ask it anyways" literally me in school
They are so thoughtful and intentional on how they do what they do. Makes their music stand so strong years and years later
this video is awesome for two reasons:
1. It's the first time I really hear Tony talking and
2. Its really interesting and its nice to listen to such stuff :D

I think I saw Chris biking through Shelby Park a few weeks ago...
Probably true ... homeboy loves biking and disc golf!
Phil-X style neck-pickup occupation!

how does he hold a guitar so effortlessly???? like it doesn't even look heavy!! I play guitar and I know that guitars aren't that light!!!! they dont weigh a ton but like... seriously
he's been doing it for about 10 years so I think he's used to it and they play shows all the time to he's probably used to it
piercetheveil tru I guess.. but thats still fucking amazing
Not all guitars are built alike and this goes for weight as well. The lightest i've seen a guitar go is about 3 or 4 pounds (Strandberg).
if your guitar is heavy then it’s a cheap POS
dylan corn shut your dumbass up
Pretty much an 80s rig with the super lead and passive duncans. I like that
Turtle talking for 13 mins im a proud fan
9:43 AWEE! No, it's okay!!! Don't worry, you lil turtle!! Don't revert back into your shell!!
Why does Tony look like a mix of Joseph from 21 Pilots and Frank Iero
they should make a signature ltd guitar for tony
I have no idea what he's talking about but TURTLE TALKING FOR 13 MINUTES STRAIGHT IM IN
Love u tony ur guitars r so sick
Please do a Rig Rundown with Bon Iver!
Should've done one for Neck Deep as well since they both were touring together!

Nobody talks about his esp Ltd EC 1000 silver sunburst guitar
I love this video, not for the reasons 95% of the commenters love it, those guitars tho tho 🤤🤤🤤
YES
the pickup is a JB ?
Pls do a white slimmer run!
Matt Jackson Tony said he wants to do a run of the white ones after the green ones sell out
" i never use the neck pickup so *of course* I gouged a massive ugly hole in my guitar "...
*facepalm* every time.
***** I was exaggerating but thats what it looks like. Why not leave the pickup in and just don't use it ?
David Oakes the neck pickup just being there will change the sound slightly, that's why you would get a single pickup guitar.
I facepalm harder everytime a musician says that the tone pot is worthless.
Gabe Burciaga depends what type of music you play and how many guitars you have. I play with 3 different guitars as my mains depending on the tuning, when I'm playing technical death metal in drop A i never use a tone knob or a neck pickup. But too each his own

9:07 ADORABLE
THEY DO KISSING IN CARS?!! Holy shit! Why? What? When? How? When did that start? Do they still play it?
Update: Never mind, all my questions were answered when I unpaused. 😂😂😂
Does anybody knows where did he buy that cap ?

Super 80s looking guitars
“co-lab” HES SO CUTE
No one's worried about the purple ghost fog?
Gibson and ESP should sponsor these or maybe they do they !?
omg?!?! Turtle is talking!! XD
I'm getting a Phil X vibe from those guitars.
Tony give me your back up guitar !!!!
Don't even use cabs just straight into pa, hows that work
The Kemper models the cabs
what if you wanted to create feedback, you just go up to the PA
I guess they don't want that, if you did, you'd need a live cab
Kempers
tony cuts him off so much
Aw he was nervous, he didn't mean to :3
