You're probably the best taster I've seen on UA-cam. Others can accurately guess the wine, but aren't as good as communicating each part. You paint an accurate, detailed picture of all the wines you taste and are great at explaining your thought process. I, for one, love this kind of content and wish to see more for what it's worth!
I live in Los Angeles and for the last three years Santa Ynez Valley has been my vacation spot. I love Brander Syrah. VERY aromatic and rich. So many great wineries to explore. In the years I've been going up there I been to over 40 tasting rooms. With over 120 tasting rooms I am just starting up. Looking forward to more trips. Thanks for the great education you are giving us Vince. Cheers
You had me at blue fruit and pepper! 😂 although I wouldn’t have never guessed California, as I have not tasted Syrah from Santa Barbara. But you are killing these blind tastings! So much fun! Keep them coming please!!
As you were talking about blue fruit and pepper, I just kept thinking a southern Rhone Syrah-based Côtes du Rhône. I can't say I have had a ton of Santa Barbara Syrah. Great job!
Very cool. I enjoyed. You menti9ned 5 wines . I only saw the last one. I need to drink mor3 Syrah from Central coast/ SB county. I’m guessing it was a bit more money than 20 bucks. Thanks Vinc3nt
Amazing! Bravo 👏 Loved it, really fun to watch. You make it all look so easy. You must have tried so many wines from all over the world. Which wine is your favorite and from what region?
Oh man, that's such a tough question! I like almost any wine on the right occasion. But a few favorites are red Rioja (from Spain) and Cabernet Franc from Loire Valley and white Burgundy!
@@visforvinoOh, yes! We love Rioja too 😊 Would it be a mistake if I said Shiraz from Santa Barbara instead of Syrah? I know that it’s the same grape but why some producers call it Syrah and the others Shiraz? 🤔 Thank you
This sounds like an absolutely delicious wine and sounds just perfect for food while we have plenty of game. I´ll have to try to find that here in Germany to try with venison meatloaf
Funny, because it was so dark, as soon as you said pepper I thought of Santa Barbara Syrah. Probably because most of the wine we drink is from there it's just what my brain defaults to.
I'm a BIG fan of Santa Barbara, specifically Los Olivos, Santa Ynez, Ballard, etc. but I find most of those Syrah's over-extracted, over-fruity, and too much new oak. We've been to Epiphany, Evan's Ranch, Stolpman, etc. and all tend to be too fruity and too much new oak. Do you have recommendations for something similar to N. Rhone Syrah but without tons of new oak?
You should also try wineries from Romania, an example of good wineries in Romania, I would recommend Tohani with Apogeu Fetesta Neagra and Girboiu with Constantin
Nose: Hmm Pepper, blueberry, could be Pinot Noir , though that pepper makes me think Syrah but I dont think its that for some reason. Let me continue watching. :) Hmm Now I might be thinking its an oaked cabernet with those tannins but I don't think cabernet has that high amount of acidity. Nebbiolo does but the color I dont think goes. Well now you said it isnt too oaked. So I need to think. I don't think its Gamay as you said. And i see you just said that too so yay. Umm I want to say Syrah but I don't haha I want to call Malbec but I feel I am wrong here. Ok video is paused. Final conclusion : New World. Malbec From Mendoza. I want to say 2022 vintage , price range around 32 Dollars. Ok lets see. haha Damn!!! I new I shoulda went with my gut!!!! haha
90% of blind tasting is actually taking theory and applying it. What a lot of people do while watching these videos is take the characteristics I provide (flavors, structure, acid levels, tannin levels, etc) and test their theory knowledge by trying to match my descriptors to a wine. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much! That's exactly what I try and do, is say my thinking out loud. So glad it's helping!
LETS GO!! Nice work 💪🍷
Thank you!
I absolutely love these! I just did the level 1 WSET test and getting to watch someone logic their way through a wine like this is super helpful.
Yay, That’s why we made the series! So glad it helps!
Im taking my Court of Masters taste today! I watched this to warm up. Thank you!
Good luck!

I miss being close to there when I lived in LA!
Being able to determine so much information about a wine blind is just seriously impressive.
Thank you! It's tough for sure!
I thought it was Malbec in the beginning but as you said the pepper was the main pointer between them two. Good job!!
Yes, the "blue fruit" wines can get tricky, but there's usually some giveaways in there if you know where to look!
I was screaming Paso, but it's got to be blend! What fun! I was ready to see you talk yourself out of this one, lol.
Love these! I'm really trying to work on my tasting game, and these are invaluable to watch you deduce your way through.
Glad to hear it! Happy they’re helping!
Well done! I absolutely love these vides. The entire time, I thought it was Argentinian Malbec. You proved me wrong!
I almost called it that too! But too much pepper for that at the end of the day.
We really did that tasting together, you were calling em as I was thinkin it haha; I was holding out for petite sirah tho 😉😉
So fun to watch!!! +1 for a tik tok cross post - if you cut it right think you could get a ton of engagement there.
Great job! Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. I'd love to see a blind flight with budget bottles. Cheers.
good call! Once we finish this series, perhaps that's the next one!

They’re great wines, hope you can find one to try!
Wow it made me stick to the video until the last second! Good job on the tasting 👏
Glad you liked it!!

It didn't have that earth I would expect from those, so I ventured new world. But it could have easily been that too!
Drops of God talent right there.
Haha just finished that show, I thought it was pretty good!

$20 on the nose actually!
Amazing! Bravo 👏

I hope you can find one, Santa Barbara Syrahs are some of my favorite wines!
@@visforvino This isn´t imported into the EU but I found a couple that are so they´re on the way.

It’s a fave of mine too, I’m surprised it was so hard for me to guess!
I said Syrah the moment you poured it!
Nice!!
I got it! 🎉
Nice!
Before the reveal: I'm guessing it's a Rhone syrah (St Joseph)
Really close!!!
Watching this video I realize how many wines I still have to taste.
That’s the fun 😉
As soon as you say pepper, blue fruit, and fruit dominant rather than earthy, it seems like it has to be a New World syrah, yeah.
Yeah, those two were big clues for sure!

Yes! Ojai and Presqu'ile are two favorites!
Nice job! The only thing I got right was i thought 2021 😂
If we teamed up we would have been perfect!
Imagine telling to anybody 20 years ago that 14% abv would be considered as "medium" alcohol :)
For real.

Love the play-by-play! I probably threw you off, you would have got it on your own!
How can we got it if we're not tasting It?
