Drake not putting nobody on from Toronto because he’s afraid they would be bigger than him.
SO TRUE. Drake would have soooo much more support right now if he had put artist's on his label - not just from those artists but their fans as well. Prolly would have gotten a decent response to "not like us" - hypothetically speaking, from one of those artists. Moral of the story - don't be selfish or greedy.

The Weekend made a good decision not signing with Drake
Drake doesn't put people on, he pushes features with other artists while stealing their flow and mannerisms. He's the creation of media and a team of ghost writers.Thats why Kendrick was so effective. He cut Drake off from the tap - which was LA and Atlanta. He was even sampling from New Orleans when he came out with Nice for What. Thats where he was getting his influence from. There is no real hiphop sound in Canada and even if there was, it would only be an imitation of American rap. Theres too much legacy here. No other country in the world does it like the states. It was born and raised here. If you think Canada or any other country can top whats coming out of LA, New York, Texas, Atlanta, New Orleans, Mississippi, Memphis and Miami, you are out of your mind.
What has Drake done for Toronto lately? Like seriously😅 Every thing he's done is just to benefit his own pockets💰 Spend some time to give back to your city, then come out with a new album💿But Not now you need to prove it to us first🤨

Dusty you the real MVP of this show! No diss to you Friday but Dusty is for the culture (of Hip-Hop) and you’re just for Drake. This show is called WeLoveHipHop (Toronto) but over the years you’ve given more attention and energy towards to Drake and senseless Toronto hood politics more than you have the true Hip-Hop culture of Toronto. Im not Canadian but anyone in any country from any hood can see through Drake and always did. He was able to get a Black American look and regional sounds for the mass global audience. He needed to stand next to them for that. They could revoke what they gave to him and make him look crazy. He has no day ones from the street and shouldnt be playing street games. I know theres authentic talent over there, connected to their community who know the streets, dont glorify it, and would authentically represent their own. They would be protected out of the love in Canada and would know how to move in the US. Proudly repping the sounds and stories of their community.
This guy is on point. If it's white rappers with talent doesn't matter what color they are. Drake has a record label what is it for if he's not going to make records and put on artist.
