I can't believe that this has had less than 100K in views. I've seen AC/DC on every tour since my very first concert on October 26, 1983 and this set list is among the best I've ever seen. It's a rare smaller venue for the boys and in the early 2000's when they were still relatively young. The greatest right hand in rock history, Malcolm Young RIP.
Mal adopted a really clean tone around 1995 on Ballbreaker, through 2000 on SUL....then in 2003 went back to his classic sound, which was awesome. So it's weird that he went all clean again for 2008 and Black Ice album and tour.
I knew there was something different but I thought it might have been in his playing it's like the rythem guitar was cutting in with one strum instead of maybe 2 at times hard for me to explain what I mean. But I preferred the way it was on let's say live at Donnington.
@@villesivonen8693 Definitely wasn't hitting as hard on that tour, he probably went a bit softer to help him focus on playing right rather than beating the fuck out of it
Ick war och da und es bleibt für mich von allen AC/DC Konzerten das Beste was ich jemals erlebt habe. Unvergessen auch die krasse Thermik in der "kleinen Halle"
I was there. Met Angus afterwards in front of their hotel. A truly magic hot summer night! Sorry to say, but comparing this to 2024 is like watching 2 different bands.
Looking at this concert, and reviewing everything that happened with the whole Brian / Axl thing, it's pretty clear where the heart and soul of this band has always been. And it's not in the man holding the SG.
The whole sound and playing changed with every song.. hard replacing someone like malcolm.. he was the secret force of nature of that band.. Angus only brought it all together with his slick licks
Honestly, the band will never be the same without Malcolm, but the rhythm sections at its best with Phil behind the drums, and Brian Johnson on lead vocals. Rock Or Bust was a contractually obligated tour with hired guns. A great show, but not the real AC/DC. And this is the real AC/DC as much as Bon’s era was AC/DC was. RIP Malcolm Young, and thank god Stevie can hold down the fort, but he’ll never compare to your creative genius.
kudos to brian, he does a fantastic job on bon era songs. there decades worth of proof floating around, but this show is a great example! call me crazy but he sings some bon era songs better than bon in my opinion. The new album is also outstanding and he sounds back in top form!
Thanks to this recording, I realized that my favorite thing is “The Jack”. The most musical and bluesy solo, the purest emotions, and in a specific heavy boogie theme!
