@saramill2097 There are differences between different Indigenous Tribes and Clans with regards to violence and it sits across two axes: (1) whether they were capable of warfare or not and (2) the degree in which they were willing to attack their enemies without provocation. You have tribes like the Cheyenne which were both relatively incapable of warfare and not willing to attack their enemies, like the Ojibwe who were capable of warfare, but generally avoided violence unless recruited to join a confederated attack. However, tribes like the Lakota were both capable of warfare and attacked others (both other Indigenous People and the UnitedStatesians) with minimal provocation. Unfortunately, because the UnitedStatesians attacked Indigenous People often with minimal provocation, the most powerful tribes that still survive are those that were more aggressive, since they took the fight to the UnitedStatesians in an offensive way as opposed to to struggling on the defensive.

Native stories must be told before they are lost along with the languages that were banned by the government, If language books can be found they can cost up to 1,500. because so, few exist due to the language banns, the government should print more in place of those destroyed. Last census only 9.7 million of us left. Somebody should tell the story of California Natives and the Mission system. Lincoln was supposed to give the Mission Lands back to the Indians but gave it to the Franciscans instead. Lincoln freed the enslaved but slaughtered the Indians, like Dakota 38.
Not only are the Lakotas *not* "Indigenous" to the Black Hills, having crossed the Missouri in the 1750s and conquering their "sacred land" from the Cheyennes, who became their vassals after a 20 year war. But it was the Lakotas who had violated the 1868 Fort Laramie Treaty, specifically by their conquest of the Powder River Country from the Crows in 1871, their continued attacks on our land surveyors and railroad workers throughout the summers of 1872-73, and also in 1873 with their raids and attacks on the Pawnees south of the North Platte River. All, of course, being well before the gold expedition in 1874, let alone the War in 1876 and annexation in 1877. Lakotas and their leftist tools on MSNBC attempt to rewrite history, when in reality the Lakotas were such aggressive predators that the Arikaras, Mandans, Hidatsas, Poncas, Otoe-Missourias, Paiutes, Bannocks, Omahas, Shoshones, Crows, and Pawnees had, without hesitation, aligned themselves with the Army to destroy the empire of Oceti Sakowan.

The government owns the reservation lands, not the tribes and casinos are about self-sufficiency. since, the land is owned by the government there are limited uses and business restrictions. People never have deeds and can't go to banks for home loans like others do. they have to save to be able to pay in full to build homes and other.
You mean when Europeans pushed the Lakota out of the Great Lakes region by colonizing it? The problem of European invasion on the east coast pushing the tribes west goes all the way back to the pilgrims. Srsly. I know they didn’t teach us much beyond Chief Joseph, “I will fight no more forever” speech but if you’re gonna bother to opine about the natives try to understand the subject.

Not for sale huh. Is that why almost every Indian reservation now has a casino on it.
And they SHOULD get their land back!! It was STOLEN FROM THEM!!
This land was never given, gifted or sold. The government owns the reservation lands, not the tribes and casinos are about self-sufficiency. since, the land is owned by the government there are limited uses and business restrictions. People never have deeds and can't go to banks for home loans like others do. they have to save to be able to pay in full to build homes and other.

Because the native Americans became United States citizens in the 1940s. Some still cannot vote because of where they live!!
where republicans? tell these people about their country. USA.
Which tribe had that land before the Lakota stole it from them?
You mean when Europeans pushed the Lakota out of the Great Lakes region by colonizing it? The problem of European invasion on the east coast pushing the tribes west goes all the way back to the pilgrims. Srsly.
I know they didn’t teach us much beyond Chief Joseph, “I will fight no more forever” speech but if you’re gonna bother to opine about the natives try to understand the subject.

Warren took a DNA test and did have Native blood. Pocahontas was abducted by child molesters, not comparable to Warren.

@@noinfo326 a creation story passed down over generations as part of one’s cultural legacy is not the same as a cafeteria buffet of religions to chose from. Your statement is so misinformed it is shocking. No other creation stories & sacred sites are treated with such disdain and contempt - particularly not those from the European heritage. Why is it I wonder. It’s racism - just appalling ignorance, colonizer mindset, european supremacist behaviour & bigotry. ‘No info’ indeed
All indigenous peoples around the world have creation stories and Natives are connected to the land from which they came, the outdoors is our church and the environment which Creator blessed us with, it is our job to be good stewards to preserve and protect the planet and live in a way for 7 generations. Don't pretend that you care about anyone or anything outside of your little faux Christian ethno-nationalist cult in a country founded on the premise of freedom of religion and separation of church and State.
The Lakota were pushed there by the US government after they were forced out of Minnesota
Maybe they should stop voting republikkkan. That would help.
Indian territory was wild. And without the government taking there would be nothing west of the Mississippi River. It was terrible the way that they did it. But we can't give the land back 1st of all its Mount Rushmore now.
No legitimately minded person would watch an old West movie from the 1930s of forties and think it was historical. Come on give the audience some credit. They like those stories because that's what they grew up with. And there were many whites that did care about the natives. But the land is gone Love it all you want, it's gone.
