The black plastic bolt on panel is the weather / noise barrier. It's protecting the window motor and speakers etc from any moisture within the door cavity and the door trim itself protects it all from weather while the door is open / exposed to the elements.
@@tintopia Thank you for telling me this. I have a 2017 Sportage and there seems to be a lot of wind noise coming from the top of the door card. When I press hard against the card with my elbow the wind noise disappears. Could it be this weather seal is loose or missing a bolt do you think?I plan to remove the card today to check. I also find the turbulence caused by the wing mirrors to be excessively noisy on this car.
@@forbello Finding the source of noises in a car is very difficult in person and impossible over the internet. You could remove the door trim and check that it is mated correctly to the rubber weather strip that seals the gap between the inner door glass and door trim. The door trim needs to be lowered onto it first when assembling and then the green plastic clips on the perimeter can be pushed home by applying pressure with the palm of the hand. If some of those clips are damaged / missing that would allow a gap and possibly cause noise ?
@@tintopia obviously I wasn’t expecting a diagnosis over the Internet. I just mentioned the weather seal encase your knew of any common faults. What I was mainly hoping for was some advice of the exact kind you have given me. I appreciate your time in replying, I will make sure the door card is sitting flush a top the rubber strip. My 2017 Kia Sportage SX Turbo back passenger door won"t open from inside or outside. Is there a trick to remove the door panel if it's close?
Haven't tried but it is likely just one screw in the grab handle if my memory serves me correctly.
Shouldn’t there be a plastic door trim weather seal behind the door are covering all the electrics?

How to remove the other door panel after removing the one u did. I mean the 2nd inner door panel on front door.
Usually all the clues are in the front door. Rear will be simpler generally but in the same style.
