My great grandad was in 8th Army as well he was in Kings Dragoon Guards that was Royal Armoured Corps he was in North Africa from 16th November 1940 to 6th December 1943 he drove Marmon-Herrington Armoured Car.
My Grandad is the guy on the right of this thumbnail, it was like seeing a Ghost when I spotted him, whilst flicking through you tube. He'd never even heard of you tube! his name was Robert Masson!
Often wonder if my grandad is ever in any of this old footage. He was in the 8th Royal Artillery. Grateful to have some pictures of him before he was killed in April 43 near Enfida.
My grandad was in the queens own Yorkshire dragoons (K.O.Y.L.I) 9th bn. Formed into 1st armored division where he died in a tank battle outside of el bab Tunis and too where he is buried today.
