I've been fighting for tool space lately and looking at 30 inch deep options. Our Matco guy had an older trade in 86" wide box with hutch but $8500 is painful for a 10 year old box, even if the set up new would have been around $25k. Seen these online through lowes, and seeing an actual useful review of Extreme Tools helps to see what else is out there and isn't going to be a disappointment. Looking to upgrade from a triple bay Mac Tech series. The main top drawer of one of these extreme tools might still be cramped with all my sockets since I like to have my air tools with them, but otherwise looks like a good option.
I haven't had any trouble with mine. The green is hard to keep clean though. You can add a locker or a hutch. I bought the cheap harbor freight locker in black and hung it of mine.
Now that you've had it for a couple of years, how has it held up? Would you recommend purchasing this over a snapon/matco box? I'm looking at the 72"x30" with hutch and 2 lockers. It just upsets me that I can't see one in person prior to purchase.
I love it. They updated the top to a better one. My only complaint is 2 of them. 1. The plastic plugs in the top of the corner decorative tube sits in there loose. Which won't matter with a hutch. 2. The drawers are still a little stiff and harder to fully pull out to full extension. But thats mostly because the tools i use the least are in the back of the drawer and i rarely pull them open the whole way. If you want to buy them go on rockin toolboxes Facebook Messenger and tell them you got referred by me. I don't get any kick back from it but them may still give you a better price than retail.
China unfortunately. But keep in mind the only tool box I could find 100% USA was snap on at the time of this video. Others are made in USA from global materials. They won't say where those materials come from.
If you can swing it I'd go with the lifetime warranty pro box. If you contact rockintoolboxes.com through Facebook messenger they can negotiate prices better or give prices for scratch and dent.
I have one with a hutch, it was a bear to get off of the pallet! It was also a bear to get the hutch on the roll cab! The roll cab came with a stainless top, and the hutch came with a stainless top, so I took the top off of the cab and installed the hutch, then I discovered the stainless top was screwed inside of the hutch from the bottom (the hutch is 5 sides and a door, not just 4 sides and a door)! So we had to take the hutch back off and remove those screws! I wish mine had the latches on the drawers like that, mine are just detents on the back of the slides. Do you find the slides a little stiff? And sometimes it just doesn't come all the way out, so I have to give it a little extra tug and pull it all the way out. Then they'll slide all the way for a random amount of time. I'm not sure if it's lack of use of that drawer or what, it's pretty random. I removed the silly lockable lid on mine, I also found it odd that they put that on the top deep drawer instead of that shallow drawer. Everyone I know uses a shallow drawer for their personal effects, but maybe they figure people can also lock up their snacks in it if they have a snack thief? 😂 I use 1/4" chrome sockets on my impact driver all the time! But it's pretty low small bolts, so not that damaging.
Yes the drawers are stiff to fully extended. They told me they will break in. I still haven't taken the lid off and that is definitely a change I would make. The biggest reason I chose this box over others is the drawer latch. Love them. If you need budget impacts tekton is worth a look at if you buy directly from them you earn 10% back for future buys.
I like the quality and the collection you have. Im still working my ways up but times been paying off. I plan on finding maybe a used Matco box or go on Rockin Tool Boxes for the Gearwrench 55 box. Its still in the air and just meant to hold all my tools
How long have you been in the business and how long do you plan to stay. Those are the factors that should played into a decision on what box to buy. I've been doing this for almost 10 years professionally before I bought a pro box. I started in a husky then added a Milwaukee. Be patient. Be careful of buying used boxes. Get the serial # to a deal to make sure it doesn't have money owed on it you could be responsible for.
@@BigFrogs4x4 Well I don't plan on leaving this industry. I've been apart of this industry for 9 years. I plan to eventually have my own business geared towards performance, tuning, maintenance and welding. I've been looking at all options but I take in consideration "you get what you pay for" into things as well. I'm not saying I will go out and spend a fortune on a Snap On box either. There's good options out there that are quality for the money you spend.
@@Numbah893 absolutely. You've been in long enough to know what it is and the ups and downs of it all. I see too many new kids over spend on the fancy stuff just to decide they don't like it and end up in debt. I can't believe how many repo boxes I've seen. The 1 bonus this this box is the lifetime warranty. It's the main reason I chose it over all other extreme boxes. Awesome to hear about your plans. I'd love to do something like that but my wife wants nothing to do with it so best I can do is these UA-cam videos to help other people and get to know other people in the field.
@@BigFrogs4x4 I made the same mistake before with Snap On. I had a lot but gave it all back because I realized it just wasn't worth it. For plans yeah it's been a hard road. I stepped away from dealers because I was an entry level tech for 8 years. I did more heavy line work with performance shops. I was with 1 performance shop specializing in Donks for 3 months. Ended up being let go because the owners had financial problems with their business at the time. I did under the table work for another GM shop while looking around but turned out no one was looking to hire. So sadly I'm going back to a dealer closer to home. Not sure if it's going to really pan out or not but no other options were available to me. It's a hard industry and I'm still going after what it is I want to do.
Not a single big issue. Has more tools in now. The drawers still need a little force to reach the full open length but its probably because I rarely open them the full length. The tools i use the most are in the front of the drawers.
For this price? ;-) china. But the only box fully made in the usa is snapon. At least with the research i did. Others are made in usa with global materials or assembled in the usa.
All the welds broke and the wheels fell off when I towed mine down the interstate at 55 miles per hour. Guess I will use a trailer next time, or at least unload the tools first.
They are expected to cost around $4500. But last i talked to them final pricing wasn't set. You can get exact prices by contacting rockintoolboxes.com through Facebook. Tell them BIGFROGS4X4 sent you for a discount.
Extreme Tools are the BEST. I'm going to buy the same toolbox in gloss black with a top chest with the heavy-duty casters. I'm so disappointed in my Snap-on 72 inch 29 deep toolbox, the steel metal is so thin. Your Extreme Tools roll cab weights 400 pounds more than my Snap-on.
@@prevost8686 If you want to pay $23,000.00 for a Snap-on Master 72 inch roll cab and Top Chest with thinner gauge steel, be my quest. I own one and they dent very easy.
Just ordered the 72" with a hutch. Looks good quality
4 years and no major issues. Love the size. Mainly the depth. Now they sell an 84" box
Good choice same color as mine
Were the wheels already attached when the box arrived, or did you have to attach them?
Came fully assembled

6 months in now any problems? Still like it?
Live it! Only issue is the black corners are a little cheap and the caps on them dont fit tight. The rest is great!
@@BigFrogs4x4 what's cheap about them?
Thin. Just slide into place. Top caps don't fit well. I put HF corner protectors on 1 corner.
How deep are the thinnest drawers vs the drawer front.
Both are 1.5"
