So glad to see you're starting to upload videos on a personal channel as well! I've been following your activity on Pianist Magazine for quite a long time and found your accurate tips extremely helpful. I'm an organist trying to perfect my piano technique and sensibility: these short lessons are so useful to me! Thank you very much for your fantastic educational project.
Thank you so much for your comments, Ruggero. I am genuinely delighted my videos are useful to you!
yeessssss. This. The G minor Ballade. Never noticed the spectrum of pedaling demanded. So interesting!
I actually thought you abandoned this channel 😂 Thank you for your generosity helping us piano students
Thank you, Gustav. No, my videos are all over the place but I think I need to start uploading them here!
I watch your videos on Pianist Magazine :) Very very helpful, so thank you for that
Thank you so much for all these videos !!!:)
Thank you!!!
This is an interesting and useful example, and I enjoyed the history lesson. But pedaling seems to be very much a matter of taste. Zimerman plays this passage with utmost clarity and very moderate use of the sustain pedal. Horowitz can be seen on UA-cam pedaling every eighth note. Lang Lang makes heavy use of the sustain pedal, and the low notes at the start can be heard throughout the passage. Take your pick!
Thanks for your comments, Bob. Totally agree - pedalling, like so much else in piano playing, is a personal matter, depending on the instrument and the acoustics of the space as well as good taste.
Thank u!
