- Welcome to our Poland series. We are travelling all around Poland by car. But there is a plot twist we are travelling around Poland during corona, so we will see what Poland is like during this time. The Polish road trip will take us to some of the best places across Poland like Kraków, Gdansk, Wrocław and Poznań to name but a few.
For our first day here in Poland, we're exploring the beautiful town of Poznań! We couldn't have asked for a better start to our Poland adventure! 3:46 Not exactly. Polish history is a little bit complicated. :D This is where the Greater Poland Uprising began or rather was triggered. Poland already existed, but was kind of cut back. Poznań and the lands around it were still under German rule. The purpose of the uprising was to connect these lands to the rest of Poland. The uprising was a great success that is still celebrated today.

Pyry z gzikiem(potato & cheese) is a typical Poznan's dish and you don't get it anywhere else in Poland.

Interesting visit. Very few non-polish tourists to Poznan. Two highlights particularly enjoyed in Poznan when I drove there from the UK. The zoo was the best zoo I visited anywhere. The musical instrument museum was a special place. Traditional music in the area is bagpipes, each with a goat's head atop the chanter. Chopin and Liszt both played here, I think that it was Liszt's home town.
Enjoyed this wee film as I have a colleague who comes from this town.

I recently learn of vlog and see this first video. I love what you have to say about Poland. Perhaps some day you will settle here permanently! I wish I knew you are going to Poznan because it has pierogi restaurant, authentic Polish baked, not boiled. It is small group in few cities, usually university medieval cities. If you did not go to Pierogarnia Stary Mlyn I recommend you taste. The hot fruit teas that are like syrop to drink would have made you warm on cold day. I will see more videos when I have time and recommend other restaurant.
