With the expanding debt it's pretty simple... QE and that also puts downward pressure on CPI / upward pressure on asset prices. Exactly what the WH wants. It's not strange that high CPI coincided with QT... it's strange no one has spoken out about it.

IdK if they thought it was ever "buttoned up" but some people don't see a second wave of inflation coming, so January's CPI may have been a surprise to them.
