How to make homemade paste clay without using resin type clay [Recipe]

  • I made paste clay with cornstarch based on how to make cold porcelain.
    It can be handled almost like paste clay made from resin type clay, but it was easy to peel off when applying resin after drying.
    I enclosed the illustration with UV resin.
    The hardness of the paste clay can be adjusted by the number of times of "microwave oven 5 seconds".
    The design sheet can be downloaded from the following.
    nelco.jp/pasteclay_cornstarch.pdf
    The illustration is designed by Nelco-neco.
    This is a handmade channel.
    UV resin, art flower, clay, accessories, etc.
    I am challenging various DIY.
    I like handcrafts and am making a lot of fun in my own way.
    I can't say how to ... but if you like handcrafts
    I hope it helps your inspiration.

    The main components of resin type clay that dries in natural air are starch and vinyl acetate resin emulsion.
    It is made by mixing cornstarch, which is composed only of starch, and woodworking glue, which is mainly composed of vinyl acetate resin emulsion,
    and adding lemon juice, which is a preservative. 😊
    These are how to make cold porcelain of homemade resin clay.
    I tried various mixing ratios to make it into a paste clay state.

    質問すみません💦
    こちらの方法でペーストクレイを作ろうとしている者ですが、スーパーにデンプンのみのコーンスターチが売っていなく、コーンスターチ30%のベーキングパウダーでは代用は不可能でしょうか?

    Is this like cold porcelain? Does it shrink?

    • @nelconeco
      @nelconeco  2 роки тому +1

      I think it is similar to cold porcelain.
      It shrinks just a little when it dries.
      The size does not change. But, for example, the lines you draw will become slightly thinner.

    I love your videos, your creativity and your talent. I do have a question: when you are mixing all the ingredients you say to microwave it to make the clay mixture harder... I don't have a microwave. Is there another way to harden the mixture without using a microwave? Thank you in advance.

    • @nelconeco
      @nelconeco  3 роки тому +2

      The reason for using the microwave is to activate the starch and to dry it a little.
      Warm the container with a hairdryer.
      Please note that the starch will solidify if it is heated too much.

    Can regular PVA glue like Elmer's work? I read that wood glue is also a PVA glue, but I don't have wood glue.
    Also I love that design, it's so beautiful uωu

    • @weirdrabbitgirl
      @weirdrabbitgirl 3 роки тому

      I imagine that Elmer’s would be ok for this use because it gets covered with resin, but otherwise I imagine it would be super delicate and easy to damage the finished products.

    • @nelconeco
      @nelconeco  3 роки тому +1

      I didn't know Elmer ’s glue so I googled it.
      The main component of Elmer ’s glue is vinyl acetate emulsion.
      This is the same as the main component of woodworking glue.
      I don't know the mixing ratio of vinyl acetate emulsion, but I think Elmer's glue works.

    • @nelconeco
      @nelconeco  2 роки тому

      Before making Paste Clay, you need to make resin-type clay. Resin-type clay is very similar to cold porcelain. Oil is used to make cold porcelain. I failed to mix the oil when I heated it in the microwave.

    Thank you so much for sharing this recipe with us. I love your videos and your work is amazing. I do not work in resin but I do use recycled materials and papier maché clay. I am a maker of Christmas ornaments and I was very much inspired by this artist: ua-cam.com/video/Yl8T8ZJG_UU/v-deo.html but we do not have paint in tubes with such a tiny nozzle opening. Even "puffy paint" does not have the same type of tiny opening. I am going to try making my own with this recipe. I'm working on other projects just now but I will definitely let you know if it works out. THANK you again for sharing your work and methodology with us.
