If anyone out there is thinking that the title of this video is sarcasm or meant to stir up controversy, you have got it all totally wrong. If anything, it is the complete opposite. I really was very impressed and thought it very kind of Tom Araya that he interacted with us, Salvadorans, in our own tongue. Everyone, at that venue, very much appreciated that, I think.
This may come as a surprise to some, but, for whatever reasons, many Latin-American people who grow up in non-Spanish-speaking countries do not speak Spanish very well or not at all, and I am absolutely fine with that, I am not criticizing anybody here.
This concert took place on April 28, 2017, at the International Fairgrounds (CIFCO), in San Salvador, El Salvador. The sound was perfect; the crowd, respectful; and the band were awesome!
Tom Araya was born in Chile, but moved to the USA at age 5. His Spanish sounds very natural.
Kerry King is last to leave the stage.The drummer in this concert was Bostaph, not Lombardo.

Well he is Chilean... So perfect Spanish is a big stretch
Oh, no stretch, at all, man! He really does speak Spanish very well… But you are missing the point: Bands like Slayer don’t often visit such tiny nations… To have such legendary musicians not only visit your own home town, but also interact with you in your own language is sort of special and worthy of some appreciation. It would have been great to have had Dave Lombardo as part of the line up, as well, but I’m not complaining-Bostaph is a fantastic drummer! Thank you for your comments! Cheers!

Now... I do not know where that "bad Spanish" reputation that you speak of comes from, but I am a conference interpreter, and I have interpreted in many, MANY, international conferences involving Chileans, and NEVER have I found it difficult to understand them, nor have I ever thought, at any point, it is butchered Spanish that they are speaking. This whole notion is entirely new to me.
I cannot thank you enough, @CINEM4OFICIAL. I did not understand where some of the comments here were coming from. The "buenos nachos" comment is hilarious though.
@@TheRandomFactor not on the formal side of spanish, but on the informal side, like when we're talking with our friends we know we speak fast and with a bit much of "chilenisms" and abuse of the word "weón" (friend, idiot, asshole, man) and "wea" (anything... literally anything)... like, us chileans, we can understand ourselves when we say "weón, cachai que la wea es distinta de esta otra wea y esta wea se hace con esta otra wea", so yeah... i say we're the scottish for the spanish speaking
I understand,@@CINEM4OFICIAL. We all have colloquialisms we use in our home countries, don't we? Here is one from El Salvador: "Envijar los tarantines" (wash dishes). Admittedly, not everyone in El Salvador speaks like that, however; maybe I could have chosen a better egg-sample.

@@TheRandomFactor no hay por qué amigo, en esa ocasión Slayer canceló un segundo show programado y es allí donde pudimos saber mediante el hermano de Tom que estaban en el hotel y hacer este registro ., los alcanzamos a tiempo, saludos

Chilean being one of the hardest accents to understand for native speakers and even more difficult for learners. We speak fast, mispronounce 90% of the words and we have a slang brought from the depths of hell😂
