Sauron, The Dark Lord is already great for the Mordor pre-con as commander, so much synergy. When I get bored with the pre-con I'm definitely trying this deck-tech out!
@cbrophy1 depends on the power level you want to play at. Ultimately, it's still a precon, just with a better commander. I think there are stronger precons but this one isn't bad. It's more of a control play style, so you will need to make plays that slow your opponents down, while you win the long game.
I went for a voltron/reanimator strategy. I want to pitch creatures like scion of draco to sauron's trigger and then bring them back to make my giant army even scarier. Its a weird idea to balance since I want big creatures that make combat hard for my opponents but also ways to connect with my massive army.
@@tamalock no reason the face Precon commander and the backup commander couldn't go into a amass and reanimator situation with some counter spell synergy
What is the general consensus on running any of the Nazgul creature? On theme and causes the Ring to tempt you. Probably wouldn't want to run all 9 copies either way, but a few maybe? Or are they too clunky?
Such a noob question , but can you explain what his ward does ? Does an opponent have to sacrifice a legendary creature or artifact whenever they target him with a spell ? Or is the word you can sacrifice in order to avoid paying his mana cost ?
To be specific, ward is put on stack whenever he is targeted. When the ward resolves your opponent can pay the ward cost or the targeting effect is countered. It’s not an additional cost. So if your opponent forgets and targets, they wouldn’t be able to take it back or change targets as it’s not an illegal actions
I'm building him way jankier... with 9 nazgul... both krenkos... and hoping to get some steal your opponents stuff blue spells in there for annatar flavor... disciple of bolas for a cultist of melkor... and I would love to fit in a werewolf and vampire for the beren and luthien reference, but it's already going to be tough to fit them all... i think there is an on color beast that draws when a creature with a counter on it dies so i will probably call that the "werewolf" might throw in the changeling club even though it doesn't have flavor, but think of the extra counters from amass and wraiths...

We think he's the best iteration of Sauron by a long shot! 😁
That’s awesome I’m new to the game and ordered the dark lord and the pre con, ill be good to go with just those?

@@cbrophy1 I'm sure @AffinityForCommander can give better advice.
Man you sound so cool... a lot like Ralph Ineson. Great video!
Haha, thank you! 😁
Nice video, the deck sounds very cool
Thank you! 😃
The amount of joy I’ve gotten out of my friends attempts at removing Sauron is immense
Love it! 😆

Deck list? I'm thinking about reanimator/spell slinger with some aristocrat.
I really wanna play this sauran as my commander, but also the Precon one, but I just can’t find good decks that use both

You are correct! Whenever an opponent targets Sauron with a spell or ability, they have to sacrifice a legendary artifact or creature 😃
That's in addition to paying any mana costs! 😄

tempted to throw an eldrazi titan in just to not mill myself 😂... black market is my ramp package so who knows I may even cast it
Is there a precon deck where you get "Sauron, the Dark Lord“ ?
There is not, the only Sauron precon is "Sauron, Lord of the Rings"
As Tommy has said, the answer is sadly no 😢
How much of each mana should i have for this kind of deck
We are actually going to release a video about mana base creation later this month! Jeep an eye out for it! 😁
I can't understand this guy 😅
Alex or Sauron? 😂
