I...LOVE...YOU. I've been looking for the "Born To Run" clip for YEARS. I think he did it on one of the Comic Relief specials when I first saw it (he was dressed differently and looked older), but the bit is the same. THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this!!!
I remember watching this. "Born to Run" bit pops into my head any time I hear, think, or see something about Springsteen or new Jersey; and this is the first time I've seen it since it was in hbo
I had this on VHS way back in the day and accidently deleted it. I must have watched it 20 times. I wish I could find the whole thing. His story about buying the painting was GREAT.
If you come across the bit where he sings "They Call The Wind Mariah" please share... My daughter is named "Mariah" because of Robert Wuhl's version. My VHS recording died before I could share it with her. Thanks for this upload! Brings back precious memories! :)
I remember a Wuhl stand-up routine where he is talking about the old Superman show of the 1950s, and making fun of every week guys try to shoot him, don't they know he's Superman? Around late 80s- early 90s... Can't find it though.
I take it he's a Bruce Springsteen fan...He's a funny dude. Check out his history lessons called Assume the Position. It was the first time I learned the truth about history. He's a very interesting, and intelligent man.
Bob Wuhl is the man. Such an underrated and under-appreciated talent.
This is a classic bit. Brilliant. So 80's.
