About Sanford And Son: The highest-rated half-hour series in NBC history at the time, Sanford and Son stars Redd Foxx as the cantankerous sexagenarian Fred Sanford and Demond Wilson as his son Lamont, also his business partner in the family junk-dealing business. To prevent his son from leaving home, and bent on having things his own way in general, Fred often calls upon such ruses as fake heart attacks or phony back ailments. Lamont usually sees through these subterfuges, but because he loves his father, he lets him think he's getting his way.

Even though this show is 50 years old it is still one of the very best shows on TV today in 2022
I could show you a show

That is a fair trade if you ask me... they surrender a stolen gun and not get jail time for it.
The way Redd walks in the door and then up to the counter is just GOLD. He knew how to work the space.
What?

Sanford and son was a great show. It’s a shame we don’t have anything like it now.
Political correctness took a toll on entertaining TV. Archie Bunker was my hero growing up.
That's why I watch reruns
Just 2 of Fred's mistakes pawning a gun.
1.Never pull a gun from your waist.
2.Never point the gun in the pawn shop owners face. 😄
Being Black in the 70s didn't help either
@@matthewviramontes3131 I guarantee no matter what color you are.... if you handle a gun anywhere just like on the clip. People will panic. Very unsafe handling. However I don't disagree with your statement either.
@@josflorida5346 That's true, but it works because it is something you could see a senile old man trying to do
3. picking up a gun to show it to the cop
@@johnjones_1501 true 😆
I work at a gun shop and, believe it or not, people try selling a gun this way more often than you might think.
How often do people bring them in loaded when they tell you it's unloaded?
@@jonmacdonald5345 About 25% of the time there’s a loaded magazine in it. 10% of the time there’s one in the chamber.
Very foolish. Always bring in a gun in a case, and let the shop employee/owner open the case. You'd think people would search for how to do it on UA-cam.
Sure fire way to get shot.
Now that's really scary.
“See, I told you to turn it in, no but you wanted to keep it and this dummy here wanted to pawn it and the reason I’m here between you two dummies trying to sell it to this dummy!” 🤣🤣 Fred was the best!!
LMFAOOO

One of the very few times in the series Fred made a smart suggestion
😂😂😂😂😂😂
In another 100 years people will still be watching this and laughing. Timeless classic!
Hope to see you on 100😆

Sure would be interesting to know what shows you think are good, kiddo...
We won’t be around in a hundred yrs...
"And it's in pretty fair working condition." The way Redd delivers his lines is so good. "Great day in the morning!"
Sat with Redd in Vegas a memory that is priceless so hilarious
Looks at officer Smitty. "We're not gonna bust ya." HILARIOUS! 😁
Who remembers the episode where Lamont and Rollo go out for the evening and walk into a Gay Bar? And then Fred thinks that his son might be gay. I cracked up when Fred asked Rollo, why you always hanging out with my son?" And Rollo said, "Lamont? He's my man! He's my main man!" And then Fred was about to have one of his heart attacks! I busted out laughing!!!
🤣🤣
Then Rollo see's Fred and Bubba coming out of it.

❤❤
There will never be another Redd Fox his timing and delivery was perfect.
Then Fred & Bubba go to the same bar and are seen by Rollo.
My dad still loves this show. And I've heard from reliable sources that in many gun stores, customers haphazardly and routinely point guns directly at the sales staff.
Insane
Yup.
Just liberals!
First deer rifle I got (no longer a hunter now), I went to a shop and ordered the rifle. Went to pick it up when it was in and there was a guy at the counter trying to look through scopes on different used rifles. He didn't know where to point so he was pointing the rifles toward the entrance of the shop out into the light. Several times, people came up to the door to come in and the guy at the counter never said a thing - I guess he was trying to be polite to get the sale (this was 20 years ago now).
I'm sure something like that happens once a day. I think if I had a shop these days, I'd have a dead area to the side of the counter with a target on it and a lot of light so that customers had something to point at that didn't matter.
@@jasoncessna2522 Libs don’t buy guns…try again🤦♂️
This show by far, hands down is absolutely the best sitcom EVER. Nothing even comes close to it. God I miss the 70’s
"Look, let's get down to business! See i have this gun here, and its in pretty good working condition." 🤣😂
Redd fox was a blessing to all of us, if he could've lived another 100 years we would be much better off!
True, but the first 100 were great.
Norman Lear once said that Redd was the only person he knew who could tell you your mother had just passed and actually make you laugh about it,lol, thats a funny guy right here.
Yes, Dean. He could have eased us thru the pandemic and turned the R-U war into some profound giggles
Smitty is cracking up 😂😆 " we are not going to bust you "
"Right up", "ON", "on", 😄😆🤣...
Clips from Sanford and Son are funny no matter how many times you watch them.
It’s amazing, some shows you can watch 100 times and some you can’t even finish. Sanford and son was # 1 and it will always be !
You had this gun pointed at me and you were demanding money 💴 lol 😂 that part was funny 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
My family used to watch this show in the '70s. A bird must have been sleeping in a tree outside, because it learned the first few bars of the Sanford & Son theme music, which it would sing during the day.
Did it do the cowbell, too?
@@soilprepper2602 No cowbell, it was more like a whistle.
And Fred calls everyone else there a dummy. Gotta love Fred. 😄
The World would be so much better with more Fred Sanford's! RIP Redd Foxx!
One of my top 5 of All time Comedies. Redd Foxx was the man.
Fred, unknowingly pointing that Gun at the MAN FACE...i don't blame him for sounding that alarm...this is the same episode when Rollo said he couldn't take the Gun in either...THEY WOULD CHARGE ME WITH EVERY SHOOTING SINCE LINCOLN JACK. 😆
I don't want it in this house. I don't care if it shoots a hundred times then start throwing bricks
He sounded the alarm before he even saw the gun
@@randallmarsh1187 Yeah, but in fairness, Red Fox was making it sound like it was a robbery.
This was a good one. Sanford looked.like a real armed robber with son and his buddy waiting at the door.
Ha ha ha .

This is one of my favorite moments from season 1! How everything falls together in this scene is absolutely hilarious!

This show came out 30 years before I was born and it’s still one of my favorite.
This clip brings back memories of a childhood, The show was awesome Red Foxx was a rare talent, R.I.P. Thanks for all the laughs thru the years.
I got a kick on how Redd Foxx walked. My mom is in her 80', and she walks the same way.
If only they'd show shows like this and all in the family today!
Always a funny show ,used to watch it with my grandparents when growing up. Laughed at it then ,still find it very amusing 😄😆🤣 good Ole Fred. Red Fox ,rest in peace. Always a good actor.
Yeah old Fred that was some funny stuff amazing get away with some of that stuff back in the day that was some real comedy back in the day

Great show. Loved the father son dynamics. Red Foxx was a classic.
One of the funniest shows of the 70s. Redd Fox was hilarious

"Okey right up"
"ON MAN COME ON"
"Oh right my bad"
God I love those two cops
Excellent episode. I loved the part when Rollo buttoned up Fred's sweater and said " now everything is everything, let's go". Great show.
It's a shame, Rollo never got a spin off, but yet the Network gave Grady two Sanford spinoff's.
Could not make a show like this today..
Absolutely one of the funniest TV shows to grace the screen
Oh you done it now. You got me in the mood for watching more Sanford and Son!.......thanks.
Season 1 of Sanford and Son was classic 👍🏾
This episode is from Season 2 not Season 1
The first three were real good. Remember the courtroom scene?
When Fred thought that he killed Goldstein with the rifle was one of favorites.
He just wanted to sell the gun to the dummy 😂😂😂

How well I remember this scene from long, long ago. Sanford and Son was one of our favorite shows back in the day.
I miss this show, I grew up watching it and loved it. Always made me happy.
It was a weekly experience for my family everyone loved watching Fred and Lamont argue about something throw in Ester and it got even better
Who remembers the episode where Julio invites Lamont and Fred out to a Puerto Rican restaurant and the waiter calls Julio "Negro"? I loved that episode!
JULIO AND DAMN FOOLIO!

1:43: Pawn Shop Broker thinks: "Watch It Fred, You want to get 30 Years?"
Fred offered $100 for a gun that was dropped at the Sanford junkyard during a holdup
That is funny, at the same time being too real to be funny, even 50 years later.
solid gold.....could use this in the classroom to teach so many things.

I love this show! Rest In Peace my king forever!
i still watch this everyday,🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣you pointed gun at me demanding money 😂😂😂😂
I still laugh every time I hear that line. “You pointed that gun right at me, and demanded money!” “Now…How would you like to explain that?”
I use to go to my grandpas house and watch these back to back with him, that is when he wasn't watching spaghetti westerns.
This one is great also, I was thinking last night about some of my favorites and the one where the Japanese want to buy up houses in the neighborhood...."I''ll just have some of these grapes"....ohhh, Mr. Sanford, you like out traditional delicacy, the fish eyes. Pop out of his mouth and Saki,,,,,,my favorite,,,sweat saki....
My favorite episode is when Lamont decides to go work for another junk dealer and Fred hires someone else. Fred hand him a check to go pick up some old refrigerators and Fred says," If you try and cash that check, ill find you. It might take me years, but ill find you. 50 years from now, if a 100 year old guy......" i forgot the rest, but it was so funny! Any remember this episode?
