223 REM. Sierra 69g HPBT, Shooters World Match Rifle

Trying out a load I developed about a year and a half ago. Using some Starline Brass loaded up with Sierra 69g HPBT propelled by some Shooters World Match Rifle Powder and CCi BR-4 primers.
I also am taking a look at the Caldwell Rock BR shooting rest.

...I'm shooting 69grn SMKs over 23.1grn of H322 to 0.5 MoA @100 yards and SubMoA out to 500yards for 5 rounds, through a 22" 1:9 Lithgow LA102. My wife is shooting same bullet over N133 to 0.3 MoA with a Savage BVSS 26" 1:9. Thanks for the video!

Good shooting, Josh. I like that rest and bag. I agree, pretty good deal at $100, not so much @$200. I like Shooters World powders. We just need primers.

High temps, humidity always suck when trying to get out and shoot and be able to enjoy it without dying of heat exhaustion

I hadnt tried this weight range before. (68/69g) being very happy with 60/62g as a "heavy". But I was given some to try along with cfe223 to try. WOW WOW WOW!! Altho my charge was low (starting) the velocity was under 2600 the groups from my Mossy Bolt was hovering @ 1/2"! This gun is a shooter but to randomly pick a loading a d get a 1/2" group!! Ill be investigating this further!!!!
Never had such a fixed hi power. I lad a Leupold M8 12x years ago as a test optic to prove accuracy and enjoyed it. But it was sold along the way.
These are classic rests your gonna love it. Its a proven solid design. Just heavy awkward to cart around if you cannot leave on range. Mine is older and a diff company and chocolate brown/tan but same design. A good rear bag and your set!

Thanks. My load with the Hornady 68g was a lower velocity than these but was great out to 1k yards. I also have a fixed 20x but it’s m not to crazy about it but it’s ok. I love the fixed 16.

Nice groups Josh I’ve been wanting to try some World Match, from what I’ve heard it’s also good in the 308 Winchester. Allow me to recommend using the CBTO method instead of the COAL method, your groups will be more consistent.

Thanks. Been using the CBTO method for several years. It’s the only way to go. Pretty much any 223 powder works in 308.

I agree the CBTO method is the way to go. I must disagree not ALL powders that work in the 223 will work in the 308.

@@VitoBb1978 Any powder that will work in a 223 will work in a 308. Even the 4198's with a 110 Hornady, or esp. a v-max, or Nosler 110gr tipped or a 110 Serria's hp.

Good video you should be able to load a heavier charge safely in a bolt gun if you choose so I load for a gas gun .223wylde 5.56 25gr SWMR 77 smk and 26.9gr SWMR 62gr Hornady BTHP from MSSS I like SW Long Rifle and Precision rifle powders to I use SWMR in 4 different calibers good stuff
