Jesper Waldersten, born in Stockholm in 1969, started of as an art director and then moved on to work as a creative artist. From 1999 to 2005 he produced some hundred illustrations for the daily newspaper DN that won him three gold medals in the world championship Best of Newspaper Design among other prices. Waldersten has had several one-man exhibitions and published more than seven books under his own name. His latest work includes illustrations for a Madonna video, a photo/art book for Swedish group KENT and this collaboration with Ane Brun for 'These Days'.

The lyrics remind me of witnessing my mother’s sharp mind begin to dull at her age 82. Now 85, our conversations are very short. But she’s still walking and smiling, especially at babies.

Beautiful lyrics. If you’ve ever strongly leaned in on &/or completely submerged yourself into your darkest self, in your darkest hours, if you’ve ever been depressed, anxiety riddled or had ptsd, &/or if you’ve ever had any addiction, or even a very strong predilection that grabs hold of you (alcohol, drugs, a person or even a relationship), then this song IMHO would be during your acceptance, acknowledgement of it & your awakening of it. Its raw, haunting & leans into whatever *that* is but doesn’t allow its clutch to submerge you. Silent acceptance of sorts, to be looked at when needed but always striving to move yourself forward. Atleast it is to me, just one gals view of it. LOVE this. Thank you!

Looking concentrated to two pupils, they are alive. And all around these sensitive spots is intensely moving of the burden. Beautifull done... it's hypnotizing. I'm surprized this album is already from 2011. I remember the release of "It all starts with One" as it was yesterday. I was dumbstruck, breathless, falling into rest.

Heard this first on my last Nbome trip (at the peak). Dayum, it was! Shot me outta the world into Gallifrey or so. From Ane's winks and twitches to the tweaks of the videomaker, the clip is AMAZING! Not to mention that it intensified my own trip, but, it stayed within my head for so long. Come to think of it, it was the first time I heard this song of Ane. Entirely WOW. Today, even during the sobriety I get the chills of what I felt during Nbome. Brilliant production, Ane and her crew! Kudos!

Yes, I hadn't considered that. I'd given it a much more literal interpretation and took it to mean her relationship with someone or something that was dangerous but your explanation fits perfectly.
She said she wrote many of her songs about her battle with lupus. She said most ppl would think them about a relationship with another person. Perhaps this is one of those songs

@@AlmightyTod I can sse that. My first thought was chronic pain. My mother went through many years of chronic pain ... But often chronic pain goes together with depression (as it did with my mother). It's just that there is something in this song about acceptance ... and at a certain point (it took years), my mother learned to accept her chronic pain ... and her depression diminished greatly (though never completely).

I love this MV, and I was reminding of it from an older hard drive (2013).
I'm playing Death Stranding now, and a few of these frames give me the same vibes. Even the lyrics could be the few basis of inspiration for the game mechanics. Hideo Kojima had Nordic visuals and settings, and musicians involved too.
