Glad you like it, Jake! For years it was a staple of my fiddle repertoire and recently I’ve started using it a lot more on mandolin than I used to. It’s a good lick for catching the ear of other pickers, and audiences find it exciting too. - Nate

Yeah, total bummer because the video came out great otherwise. I think I’ve figured out what to do. There’s tools to automatically regulate the volume and I’m learning how to use them. Trying that before I complicate things with more mics. - Nate
I'm not getting much volume for some reason... I can't hear you at all on my laptop and just a little bit on my cellphone. Is anyone else having trouble hearing or is it just me?

What really helped me learn this was to focus on the alternating up and down strokes on the A string.
That’s a solid strategy! Sounds like you broke the idea down to the sub skills involved and mastered them to achieve a great result!
