Good video. I bought legends first as i wanted a deck building game in my collection. No clue what i was getting into. Found a used one for 30$cad. Was hard to learn. Once i learned, I was like wow!!! Again found classics for 25$ so playing both. This game is so good now i am selling some other games then eventually going for Horizons.
Great review! I’m really interested in this game. I was wondering which set you recommended picking up first tho? I thought about getting classics first but then horizons came out and I heard it was a little more “euro” and it also has twice as many civs which sounds nice!
I've played both Classic and Legends and I would say, if price is no issue, you should definitely get Horizons. The original two sets have so many issues with usability getting started, that the improved rulebook and helpful tools of Horizons make it much more worthwhile for a beginner. That being said, Classics and Legends are cheaper with loads of game in them so...
Played Classics and Legends. Unfortunately, the juice was not worth the squeeze for me with Imperium. The game plays long for the amount of entertainment I get from it. I also found myself doing bookkeeping tasks tracking values and placing tokens more than making interesting decisions. So in thought the game appealed to me greatly, but in practice it was a disappointment.
This game sounded right up my alley, but sadly after trying it, it has become one of my most dissapointing game experiences to date. It was just an extremely fiddly and solitaire affair with arbitrary rules and nothing that could be considered fun or exciting. It is one of 3 modern board games that I have given a 1/10.
Thanks for the shout out buddy! Some friends bring cool games, or food and drinks. I bring constructive criticism and clarity to following the rules!
lol!!!!! So true.

You would have helped too lol!-Bryan
@thedicetower thanks! Maybe one day I'll get the chance
We should have received some cardboad mats (boards) for that price point.
This game is torturous to learn
