Thank you so much for your work, great video and extremely informative - I missed out on the DoW train back in the day, and am recuperating now after the entire Space Marine 2 hype. I have concluded the DoW Anniversary campaign and have moved on to Winter Assault. Going through each game, one by one. I seriously doubt I have even a fragment of the needed skill to play multiplayer, but am having a blast in the campaign so far. Am using some configs and fixes to make it run in 1920x1080 and avoid the minimap edges bug as best I can. It was a true chore to get DoW Anniversary properly scaled. Starting from Winter Assault and beyond it's much easier. If anyone needs help getting them to look good on modern specs, do let me know. Once again, thank you for the comprehensive guide!
I hope instead the GW go back to Soulstorm and add more expansions and campaign features, rather than wasting time and precious resources in making new DoW games... Weirdly the game developers never turns back on their own steps in order to widening an old game, its a thing i would really appreciate in many games series. Maybe its just me but i tend to not like newer games, i always scavange and dig in the past to find old master piece game, they smell to novelty for me more than freshly released newer games!!! 😅
if they make a new dawn of war it will be mobile-friendly and they'll charge you 39.95 for each faction beyond basic space marines, orcs, eldar, and chaos. In fact your should pray to the Emperor that GW continues to ignore the scene so that all of our existing cool mods don't get shut down
@@fitegarr6134 mmmhh, probably you are right Sir, there are too much mobile like games of warhammer now, to be honest, to me the only true Warhammer is indeed Soulstorm with mods, so yes, all the others are pretty a waste of time... Probably if the had made Gladius more similar to Age of Wonders Planetfall, that wold be absolutely awesome!!!
Y'all are too pessimistic. I think it is possible to simply remaster dawn of war soulstorm, upgrade the graphics and make the game a bit smoother. I doubt it would happen, but let me dream a bit!
@@TritiumJones no absolutely, i hate graphical remasters of older game, the point is that i love older games for their bad graphic, and soulstorm is a super duper ultra modern game to me, it is easier to add new content for older games rather than upgrading the core graphics, im a modder, trust me!
what i roughly remember from the vanilla game, is that a second servitor will speed up the build speed by 60%. so if you want a building to be finished asap, go for 2 builders. if you dont care if your 'racks go up a few seconds later and you also want your gen, then assign individual servitors to be more time economical. maybe this does no longer apply....
Sir, thanks for your awesome job. Also, if you allow me, could i kindly ask you to do unification's races reviews, thats would be an awesome content. I imagine something where you speak of the general focus and features of the race, (by using the same map like gameplay format in this video) the special buildings, basic and common build orders and strategies and of course, the units rankings one by one, divided per tiers, while you compare their stats, their role on battlefield etc etc. That would be absolutely awesome!
IMO minefields are a waste, because no sensible player will go on an attack without scouting units attached. But seeing some of your streams I see some use for mines, I might stand corrected....
Does anyone know if there is a way to zoom out further than the default setting in soulstorm/ and whether this is allowed in the online multiplayer too? The camera feels way to close compared to dawn of war 2

Really hoping that the upcoming RTS games spur GW to either remaster or make a new Dawn of War based on this game.

My Master Collection always crash in big mods so I only go XL mod with vanilla experience in it. Lore sizes are there too but in vanilla mechanic
What kind of mod you use for slightly better graphics and most importantly for longer camera distance? I want to play as much vanilla as it's possible
For graphics i use a reshader and for the camera distance I use the mod you can install via the DoW Online app!

Been playing Skirmish for like a year with Unification but I am looking to transition to multiplayer and I never really understood RTS Mechanics
How do you see all yet unavailable skills/units/upgrades greyed out? I can't see, for example, commander skills, until i unlock them.

Mod work for online too, just google it :P Probably just get mod manager and you will find most things there.
