Shymkent is a traditional city. It gives you a good insight of the simple life of kazakhi people.
You can experience the cultural vibe of Kazakhstan. It's simple and minimal in every aspect and you can enjoy the delicious non-veg(horse meat) dish, 'beshbarmak' (national dish of Kazakhstan).

Turkistan. The Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi is a sweetness to the eyes. It was commisioned by Timur in 1389. You can spend 2-3 hours here if you walk around exploring, as the campus is huge.
Two humped camel or Bactrian camel ride was our highlight of the trip. And my God!! they look so soft and different.
(Turkmenistan is a separate country. Turkistan is a part of Kazakhstan.)
Just 2 hours ride from the main city of Kazakhstan. So if you are planning to visit Shymkent, it's only worth it if you are also interested in visiting Turkistan.

It varies from 18,000 Tenge (3600 inr) to 20,000 Tenge (4000 inr) return Pvt basis. 😊
