If this isn't a (probably unintentional) Metal Gear Rising reference I don't know what is. In MGR we have parries and if you do a parry at the last second its a perfect parry where you do a counter attack and deal massive damage right after the parry, and one of the harder to get achievements in MGR is Stormbringer.

If you were to duel wield your weapon you would be invincible you’re scythe gives them weakness. Well, you’re a sword Perry’s attacks, giving them a chance to not hurt you at all on top of that weakness.
