Stalcraft wasn't for me, but it DID get me in to playing STALKER Anomaly with haruka skills and skills expansion mods, so I have Stalcraft to thank for that.
What Stalcraft does well for me is really making you feel like an unimportant cog in a community of Stalkers Sure you have that feeling in the original trilogy, but ultimately you were the main character in those games. Here, you have dozens of other players in the massive map completing their own objectives and having their own interests and goals in mind. There's just something very nice about entering through the no man's land of the Zone, but eventually having the luxury to unwind and relax once you're back in your base. It's really something that you can only achieve by playing and interacting with other humans.
You really captured the beauty of this game and this is basically what I say when someone asks how grinding materials and traveling a lot can be fun. Feeling the vulnerability and uncertainty every run whether it's a farming session for materials, questing, exploring for artifacts or adventuring deep into enemy territory to get some cash for other people's loot has something special about it. Every run feels like similar but something unique always randomly happens that makes it a different experience every time. Also the player driven economy is a huge win for me, the game feels much more living because of it since you have the feeling that everything you do basically requires an other stalker of the Zone who has his own story, goals and equipments. Good stuff.
To be honest, this video is well put, commentary as good as any of the larger youtubers, also S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is my childhood game, I admit I was scared but I enjoyed the hell out of it, especially the 3 vanilla ones, their atmosphere are better than todays AAA games. Liked the video and subbed cuz you finna blow up on the algorhythm, just continue posting content like this and you're gonna have subs real fast.
Awesome video! This game is pure fun, the tension of the beep on the pda, the way you become so much more careful when you try to extract to the base with all your precious loot, the emissions, etc. I havent had that much fun in a long time in a game.

As an experienced RU player I can say that all those feelings that you covered in the video are same for me.I could also give you some useful tips, that i noticed you don’t use (in case you are not aware of them already, or settings on your version of the game somehow altered from RU servers) on 0:17 you pulled up your wheel to use a medkit, you can actually doubletap or even onetap sometimes on “c” key (by default). Also the choosing wheel works through c -> number that you bind the interactive item, so you can bind your guns or meds and stuff and then use them on a press of two keys. I would also recommend you to barter some kind of shotgun for yourself to eventually farm mobs faster. I also noticed there are no Limansk barter loot (when you look in the merchant) is it not in the game yet for you?
A lot of this footage is weeks old. I do have weapons bound to the wheel now and use c to heal instead of the wheel. Limansk isn’t available on NA I believe.

agreed the ping mechanic is great. just today i was left immensely satisfied after killing 2 players first one of them in actual combat and then using their death to set up a trap for their friend quickly escaping into bushes on the other side of a river where i know i wouldnt be seen and then waiting for them to loot their buddys corpse for an easy sniper shot
Maybe I just missed the part of the tutorial that tells you about the PDA number but I had NO IDEA that was a thing! Spent 3 hours wandering through the swamp going "huh wonder what that beep means. Hey there's a guy over there!" lol thanks for educating my ignorant ass.
Stalker is a dear love of my childhood and the dev team was really badly hated for delays, just like CDPR at a time. So happy to see you Western guys open this timeless classic, and legacy lives on!
Me coming from the grueling environment of Stay Out (that Russian game that barely has anything substantially connected to STALKER), STALCRAFT is a massive breath of fresh air for me especially because there's a lot of interaction with other players here that I didn't get in Stay Out (I was in EU server). I've been on a quest to find STALKER-like multiplayers, and for a year and a half I settled on Stay Out. 450+ hours, and I still can't appreciate it and it has been the most tedious game I've played. To compare the two, Stay Out has almost no direction, and gives no sense of direction nor engages you in its story (thanks to still bad translations), STALCRAFT has directions laid out BUT rewards and incentivizes interaction and actually has useful rewards in quests. Quests have evident effort put into them, with cutscenes that I've enjoyed and appreciate and voice acting that sounds organic. The options on what decision to take that can affect the quest's conclusion is also a nice touch, something that multiplayer games should utilize more. Second, the clear distinction between who's the enemy and who's one of yours made my gameplays a bit more relaxed and alleviated a bit of my trust issues gained from playing Stay Out. Stay Out has no faction system apart from clans, creating almost a direct Day-Z like interaction where trust is perpetually strained. Did someone carve up a mutant you just killed? Go ahead, you can shoot him. Did you beat a stalker in a race to getting that anomaly you both detected? Hope your rifle is slinged front, better watch your back. Found yourself inside a Khrushchevka apartment where someone's looting prior to your arrival? Better shoulder your rifle and hold an angle, now. Lastly the grind in STALCRAFT is fair enough for me. Coming from Stay Out, that game had HORRENDOUS grind, the "9 to 5" kind of grind where I also spent majority of the time translating their wiki, observing player traffick, and joining communities just to get the info to where to get the most loot. STALCRAFT has it laid in front of you, but doesn't eliminate the sense of uncertainty even if areas of loot is revealed to your map; STALCRAFT's system is more attuned to let you enjoy instead of having it feel like a tedious game. For all you newbies or players planning to enter STALCRAFT, fear not the grind. I've seen worse, and I've been in worse. The game is enjoyable, and I've made friends here real fast. TL;DR STALCRAFT is, and I say, IS the STALKER multiplayer you've been looking for.

I've dipped my toes in a few Stalker based MMO's going all the way back to like 2010, and this is actually the best A big part of that I think is the history, this game is actually like 10 years in the making as it started as a Minecraft server trying to replicate STALKER. You can even find some of the old maps online from before the developers renamed as EXBO
Me and my friend were in a building when my friend heard a ping so we entered a small room, lied down, armor piercing rounds, and two shotguns aimed at the door, ready for anybody to come through, and then the guy left and we booked it
Stalcraft is the only online video game I can play solo with out getting bored, I have not liked many MMOs and this one has kept my interest because of the PVP.

I am all for realism in games, my favorite games are squad and arma, but the reality is games need to abstract a lot of crap from reality into mechanics to compensate for the fact it is a game. With an MMO where you go from doing tasks you probably wouldn't be doing if other people were hunting you, as well as a days worth of work in real life in a much shorter time, having that little notification to tell you that the game has changed from MMO farmer to a real-time first person shooter is excellent.

Still didn't play the game(I do play the stalker games a lot), it seems like the online stalker MMORPG we never had, and looks fun. But one think I am not sure I like is artificially knowing when a player is near. That for me kills the element of surprise. I prefer the suspense of not knowing, it keeps me always alert.
There are (and probably will be more) locations like Limansk, where this feature is disabled and furthermore this location is so small that you bump into players from the time you spawn in, so you can have plenty of surprises. Also Limansk considered northen location, so you can farm there for eternity to gain bartered loot
Honestly that would make the game just too infuriating. You have to walk for like 20 minutes to farm materials in The Dump from Garages, for example, if you are a Stalker (as opposed to Bandit). There is a faster route but it passes right under the nose of the bandit base and you will almost certainly die. Even if you don't care about losing your crafting materials, the time it takes just to walk there is enough to make me consider closing the game. Getting killed by some guy camping without even a chance to know he is there would make it much worse. This isn't really STALKER, it's an MMO where you have to farm materials to get gear, and compromises are necessary. It's never going to be as atmospheric as real STALKER although the music is really good.
That would be excellent for helping others learn I've guided a few people through agroprom teaching them how to farm to get to the bar faster with more money in hand its such a great game with skill being tied to gear
This game has a lot of potential. However, I decided to stop when I got to the main story mission where you go into the doghouse and have to do awful Minecraft parkour. Every other main story mission gave you checkpoints in the quest that allowed you to grab your stuff, so I thought I'd be fine, however all my shit was lost at the bottom of the death pit which is unreachable. The game doesn't really respect your time when it comes to walking around as well. The OG STALKER has a lot of walking around too, but that game also doesn't have open PvP where you can lose all the crafting materials you farmed at any time. On the plus side, they recently had a dev blog where they showed off all the new animations they're working on, and it turns out they're working on a real parkour system that actually works, with 3rd person camera, as well. So that will work a lot better in the future. It makes more sense to wait before playing this, in my opinion. Early game is fun but there's a lot of random moments that will make you quite frustrated.

Some times i left with alt+F4 some times in normal way that shows how gameplay going on. :D Searching with metal detector "beep" put out weapon - almost dead from bullets from behind and dying in vortex.....this was fun but when you hiding lurking for enemy searching for him and he just jump from behind corner with 1 bullet headshot from sniper knowing where are you was in all time "cheater" that was very alt+f4 moment. Or when hiding behind solid wall i hear how bullets from sniper hid same spot where is my head, and when i show in middle open space like window boom dead from somewhere without player detector to shows more that 1.
I love the stalker series, dedicated my channel to it. I was interested in this game for a long time, then it finally came out and I came to the conclusion that... i just don´t like MMO´s. At all. Ive been playing a bit of Stalcraft here and there when it came up on my UA-cam recommended like the week of release. Doing quests and upgrading my gear (Bandit - Currently using Combo and Mosin (+scope) with Sawn Off secondary) and just vibing around the place. Really like the Air field? Milly camp? between the two faction bases not only do the NPC's drop loot used in batering but also the fact other players are around. Yes some of the AI feels like they cheat - seeing tracers going through tree's and hill's towards me. The PvP is a bit hit and miss imo and I feel like this is because of the stage im at. I think the PvP comes more so at the "Late game" when you are far north. I have had odd pvp scuffles when ive had people just walk up behind me, im in a bush, and assassinate me. And there have been times where I have seen Stalkers, especially going home from a quest, that I now would kill me so I assassinate them. Had a fun encounter where I was running him from a quest and a stalker was running towards me and I was like "fuck im dead" since he had his smg out and i had the sawn off but for some reason he just stopped and i carried on full sprint towards him and just unloaded the two shells into his face - i think 1 was needed lol - and my heart beat just skyrocketed from relief but also "oh no he might have friends around" There have been so many times where ive seen 3 man and 5 man squads running around and I just prone into a bush and hope one of them see me lmao
@@vinny5109 yeah i was hoping to have some more fun with the game but since going to Photon area, I am a bandit, and trying to do Quests in that area its just 100% of the time getting murdered from no where. Its becoming kinda degrading trying to play when you run out of the safe zone, do like 1 of those monster packs and die coming back home. Like I haven't done a single quest in that area yet because before I can get to the quest area im dead either to players or some random NPC whos shooting me through a hill and a couple trees
Started as a loner and that was a complete and utter mistake. The balancing choices from the devs, especially the beginning base camps, is honestly baffling. They took the option to buy a premium starter pack away but kept it in game, the servers are poorly populated due to however they decided to sort people based on gear, and the start of the game is just a boring slog (especially that stupid intro that doesn't represent anything close to the actual gameplay loop of the game). Maybe I'll give it a second chance as a bandit, but I highly doubt it. What a disgrace for anything stalker related.
Being automatically teammates with people of the same faction is what i thought was happening in Tarkov. I thought getting gear in that game was to help your faction out. That confused me in the first 5 hrs of playing that game, thats for sure.
I myself really like the idea but really dont like the blocky mincraft look. I would rather play with the same 2010 graphics from the original games. Its not that much about the quality of the graphics but the overall looks.
Looks like a cool PvEPvP survival shooter, but with the same redflag every other PvEPvP survival shooter of the last 20 years had: 80%+ of Player engagements are kill or be killed. I think I stay with stalker anomaly
I mean its not bad, but god damn the grind is crazy. No fast travel, so if you forgot to buy that sight at base1, tough luck, youre gonna walk 15minutes back to the base1. The griefing sweatlords is the second huge problem. So youll gonna be farming for hours, walking for god knows how long, only to be shot by kid sitting at the instance exit griefing players. If youre not pvp veteran and dont have 5-8 hours a day to grind green thing in area1, then brown thing in area2, then orange thing in area3 then forget the game and go play Anomaly....And if you want to put some hurt on yourself and play the game, for the love of god, dont pick stalkers, bandits control all maps and pick SKS or SVT asap, its the only usabel weapon for pvp.
your video is amazing about the game and is true what is good its good... BUT as soon as you reach the bar is a 24/7 PVP all the time and wrost part i having to farm 2 to 3 hours a location to come back and have 3 to 4 dudes ENDGAME everything +5 camping in a bush and them taking ur stuff and selling ur bag for 80k, and im not saying that was not desinged to be that way annd the game need to change, or have PVE servers beacause that dont even make sense, since the game is mainly designed arround the PVP but the experience that i had was totaly different from your, im quitting today this game bacause im done, really im done farming 2 to 3 hours and then dying to a dude full set +5 last gun on the tree line just camping to ruin ur gameplay, the thing is that i was wearing a AH2-NOMAD thats a combo green armor pretty early game, and the other dude were using the last combat suit in the game, and i could not do anything i landed a whole 50 shots in those guys and nothing not even a scracht, im going to let the game mature better and have some updates before even bothering about comming back to it, the game on istself in good and has a wonderfull path to go, but the way that players are paired and balanced just kicks me in the nuts, for now im gonna say that its a super grindy and un-rewarding game, and also SUPER unbalanced. and i forgot to mention im saying this after 120+ hours of gameplay, im not a newbie im not bad at the game, but im hearing a lot of people saying the exact same thing, despite the fact that the bandit faction ( im stalker) has a better location to spawn since the start of the game( im serious open the map and analise for 5 min ur going to undertand what im saying).

With an MMO where you go from doing tasks you probably wouldn't be doing if other people were hunting you, as well as a days worth of work in real life in a much shorter time, having that little notification to tell you that the game has changed from MMO farmer to a real-time first person shooter is excellent.

I was addicted to this game like crack until the Minstrel quest, then I got so frustrated I stopped playing. Absolutely love the PVP in this game.
I hated that quest
Still didn't play the game(I do play the stalker games a lot), it seems like the online stalker MMORPG we never had, and looks fun. But one think I am not sure I like is artificially knowing when a player is near. That for me kills the element of surprise. I prefer the suspense of not knowing, it keeps me always alert.
There are (and probably will be more) locations like Limansk, where this feature is disabled and furthermore this location is so small that you bump into players from the time you spawn in, so you can have plenty of surprises. Also Limansk considered northen location, so you can farm there for eternity to gain bartered loot
Honestly that would make the game just too infuriating. You have to walk for like 20 minutes to farm materials in The Dump from Garages, for example, if you are a Stalker (as opposed to Bandit). There is a faster route but it passes right under the nose of the bandit base and you will almost certainly die. Even if you don't care about losing your crafting materials, the time it takes just to walk there is enough to make me consider closing the game. Getting killed by some guy camping without even a chance to know he is there would make it much worse. This isn't really STALKER, it's an MMO where you have to farm materials to get gear, and compromises are necessary. It's never going to be as atmospheric as real STALKER although the music is really good.

The funniest thing is when you see your friend fall into a black hole.
This game has a lot of potential. However, I decided to stop when I got to the main story mission where you go into the doghouse and have to do awful Minecraft parkour. Every other main story mission gave you checkpoints in the quest that allowed you to grab your stuff, so I thought I'd be fine, however all my shit was lost at the bottom of the death pit which is unreachable. The game doesn't really respect your time when it comes to walking around as well. The OG STALKER has a lot of walking around too, but that game also doesn't have open PvP where you can lose all the crafting materials you farmed at any time.
On the plus side, they recently had a dev blog where they showed off all the new animations they're working on, and it turns out they're working on a real parkour system that actually works, with 3rd person camera, as well. So that will work a lot better in the future. It makes more sense to wait before playing this, in my opinion. Early game is fun but there's a lot of random moments that will make you quite frustrated.

Some times i left with alt+F4 some times in normal way that shows how gameplay going on. :D Searching with metal detector "beep" put out weapon - almost dead from bullets from behind and dying in vortex.....this was fun but when you hiding lurking for enemy searching for him and he just jump from behind corner with 1 bullet headshot from sniper knowing where are you was in all time "cheater" that was very alt+f4 moment. Or when hiding behind solid wall i hear how bullets from sniper hid same spot where is my head, and when i show in middle open space like window boom dead from somewhere without player detector to shows more that 1.

I love the stalker series, dedicated my channel to it. I was interested in this game for a long time, then it finally came out and I came to the conclusion that... i just don´t like MMO´s. At all. So, I respect the game, they sure did an awesome job. I recommend it to players. But it´s not for me :D nice video Vinny

Ive been playing a bit of Stalcraft here and there when it came up on my UA-cam recommended like the week of release. Doing quests and upgrading my gear (Bandit - Currently using Combo and Mosin (+scope) with Sawn Off secondary) and just vibing around the place. Really like the Air field? Milly camp? between the two faction bases not only do the NPC's drop loot used in batering but also the fact other players are around. Yes some of the AI feels like they cheat - seeing tracers going through tree's and hill's towards me.
The PvP is a bit hit and miss imo and I feel like this is because of the stage im at. I think the PvP comes more so at the "Late game" when you are far north. I have had odd pvp scuffles when ive had people just walk up behind me, im in a bush, and assassinate me. And there have been times where I have seen Stalkers, especially going home from a quest, that I now would kill me so I assassinate them. Had a fun encounter where I was running him from a quest and a stalker was running towards me and I was like "fuck im dead" since he had his smg out and i had the sawn off but for some reason he just stopped and i carried on full sprint towards him and just unloaded the two shells into his face - i think 1 was needed lol - and my heart beat just skyrocketed from relief but also "oh no he might have friends around"
There have been so many times where ive seen 3 man and 5 man squads running around and I just prone into a bush and hope one of them see me lmao
You still have long ways to go and a lot of fun things to experience
@@vinny5109 yeah i was hoping to have some more fun with the game but since going to Photon area, I am a bandit, and trying to do Quests in that area its just 100% of the time getting murdered from no where. Its becoming kinda degrading trying to play when you run out of the safe zone, do like 1 of those monster packs and die coming back home. Like I haven't done a single quest in that area yet because before I can get to the quest area im dead either to players or some random NPC whos shooting me through a hill and a couple trees

Started as a loner and that was a complete and utter mistake. The balancing choices from the devs, especially the beginning base camps, is honestly baffling. They took the option to buy a premium starter pack away but kept it in game, the servers are poorly populated due to however they decided to sort people based on gear, and the start of the game is just a boring slog (especially that stupid intro that doesn't represent anything close to the actual gameplay loop of the game). Maybe I'll give it a second chance as a bandit, but I highly doubt it. What a disgrace for anything stalker related.

Being automatically teammates with people of the same faction is what i thought was happening in Tarkov. I thought getting gear in that game was to help your faction out. That confused me in the first 5 hrs of playing that game, thats for sure.

I myself really like the idea but really dont like the blocky mincraft look. I would rather play with the same 2010 graphics from the original games. Its not that much about the quality of the graphics but the overall looks.

I mean its not bad, but god damn the grind is crazy. No fast travel, so if you forgot to buy that sight at base1, tough luck, youre gonna walk 15minutes back to the base1. The griefing sweatlords is the second huge problem. So youll gonna be farming for hours, walking for god knows how long, only to be shot by kid sitting at the instance exit griefing players. If youre not pvp veteran and dont have 5-8 hours a day to grind green thing in area1, then brown thing in area2, then orange thing in area3 then forget the game and go play Anomaly....And if you want to put some hurt on yourself and play the game, for the love of god, dont pick stalkers, bandits control all maps and pick SKS or SVT asap, its the only usabel weapon for pvp.
your video is amazing about the game and is true what is good its good... BUT as soon as you reach the bar is a 24/7 PVP all the time and wrost part i having to farm 2 to 3 hours a location to come back and have 3 to 4 dudes ENDGAME everything +5 camping in a bush and them taking ur stuff and selling ur bag for 80k, and im not saying that was not desinged to be that way annd the game need to change, or have PVE servers beacause that dont even make sense, since the game is mainly designed arround the PVP but the experience that i had was totaly different from your, im quitting today this game bacause im done, really im done farming 2 to 3 hours and then dying to a dude full set +5 last gun on the tree line just camping to ruin ur gameplay, the thing is that i was wearing a AH2-NOMAD thats a combo green armor pretty early game, and the other dude were using the last combat suit in the game, and i could not do anything i landed a whole 50 shots in those guys and nothing not even a scracht, im going to let the game mature better and have some updates before even bothering about comming back to it, the game on istself in good and has a wonderfull path to go, but the way that players are paired and balanced just kicks me in the nuts, for now im gonna say that its a super grindy and un-rewarding game, and also SUPER unbalanced.
and i forgot to mention im saying this after 120+ hours of gameplay, im not a newbie im not bad at the game, but im hearing a lot of people saying the exact same thing, despite the fact that the bandit faction ( im stalker) has a better location to spawn since the start of the game( im serious open the map and analise for 5 min ur going to undertand what im saying).
