I can't find the date on the Des O'Connor performance, but let's assume it was after the 1991 VMAs. This doesn't imply that up until Des O'Connor she was a bad singer, because we have her earliest performances from age 19 singing better than VMAs. The only explanation I can find for this is nodules. From what I understand about nodules, despite how good your technique might be, sometimes they act up and you can't really sing the best you can that day. But there are still days where you can be the best singer ever (for example, basically anything in the Daydream era lol) and still have them. Those won't be every day though.

I really liked your comment, and I don´t hate Demi, she´s one of the best vocalists of this generation, she just have problems with her support and larynx. When I made the video ´´Mariah vs Demi vocal battle`` it was not to offend her or something like that, the thing is that I was sick about some desilusional lovatics saying that ´´mariah can´t sing after 1997`` or ´´she´s (demi) so much better than mariah, who can´t sing live`` and things like this, but demi is a good vocalist, I don´t hate demi, I don´t hate mariah, (and I love vocal fails xD), I just made that to make that boring people get pissed xD

All the legends are people only, my dear. Mariah is a legend because of her talent (which Demi has too, though in all fair judgement nowhere as much as Mariah), success, influence and legacy. It's not just lambs, but basically everyone in the industry who considers her a legend, Demi included.
