Can’t believe the derogatory comments, Ed has climbed every +8000m peak on the planet, without supplementary oxygen. That is a phenomenal achievement, the first & only American to accomplish such a feat. That definitely makes him an all-time great American hero. High altitude mountaineering is something that is so incredibly risky, and to complete all 14 of these peaks without serious injury, means that HE IS A LIVING LEGEND!!! Ed Viesturs is a legend, not so much for his climbing record...but for his multiple rescue and saved fellow climbers in need, both from his own party and other expeditions...he abandoned several of his own summit pushes to litterarely save peoples lifes...THAT'S WHY THIS GUY IS A LEGEND. Many other more succesful climbers have climbed over dead bodies and ignored signals of help and assistance from others on the mountains...

And how he did it Cameron (you should realy read more? Did he do it without oxigene? New routes? First to climb? Nono of that. He is only famous because he is first usa to climb them all. And nothing else. In a true sense HE IS NOTHING BUT A THIRD LEAGUE OF ELITE CLIMBERS.
