there is hope moms. my son addicted screen. no name respons, no eye contact, no social skill. i stopped when he was 3y8m, now he is 4y6m. he become so nice talky litle boy, perfect eye contact and fast name respons. the rest are, hyperactivity still there but reduced alot and weak social skill. so far as i know, the big difference between classic and virtual autism is about sensory. virtual autism doesn't have any sensory issues, such as picky food, repetitive behaviour, avoiding some clothes, doesn't want to have hair cut or nail cut. hope my litle note spreading hope for us. what i do to help him in recovery are : 1. stop screen time at all 2. play alot with him 3. give a lot of story books and todler comics than reading together with him 4. kindergarden 3days a week 5. put some sound that help to calm, can be classic music or religion soun. in my case, im muslim so i put quran on foe 24 hours
This happend to us. 9 Months without TV an Tablet and my daughter speaks now in full sentences. Her eye-contact is very good. I went out everyday, put her together with other kids and play everyday with her. I also gave her Omega 3, D3, B12.
Diana my son is 18 months old, when he was 9 to 10 months he use to say words like subscribe, baba, nana(banana)but with the excessive screen time he forgot, I didn't notice and realise it,but now its been a week I notice he didn't recognise his name, and weak eye contact somehow when I hide my self behind the door and call his name then he look here and there, can you please help me how can I overcome this, and also how did you give your daughter b12,and omega 3 ,that was drops like vitamin D3?
@@nadiaafridi1906 Yes they are drops. Eliminate the screentime and do a lot of plays for gross motor and fine motor skills. When you read books with your child, do not read talk about what you are seeing like "The Car is red, the car drives brum brum, the car drives on the street" like this. (Sorry for my englisch, i live in Switzerland) Talk about everything you see. Kids need a lot if repetition to learn. Your son ist 18 months, this is great. I didnt notice unteil mine was 2,5 years. You have to go out and give your sons tasks like everyday the same (for the language) unteil he understands, theb give others. My daughter didnt understand a lot. Now shes 3,5 year, she speaks in fully sentences, plays so much roleplay and understands everything!
my daughter was 3.6 months old and had autism symptoms like no eye contact, and no name response, playing with toys and books most of the time as she started watching UA-cam rhymes starting 1.2 months to 3 years, and we stopped screen time at 3.4 and started speech therapy. Within 1 month, her eye contact came 100%, responded to her name. She also says her name when we asked what is your name. she pointing everything what she sees and makes her own sentences to describe the things, asking about her needs also. she remember all people names. she knows all emotions now but sometimes she repeats things but when we go out we can't control her. she always pull the things around her and she does not listen to people but she can mimic what they are doing and describes the surrounding things but won't communicate with them until they give something to her. she also points and says to things like if airplane is plying and follow the instructions .is she can be a back to normal child?
Hello Thank you for sharing this. The way you describe your daughter's progress, her development is going well. Please give her time to open up in social settings. As for the behaviour of getting excited, it is part of childhood when kids want to explore everything. Kindly create a way in which you either hold her hand when appropriate or let her carry a toy (noy screen) to keep her busy. She will be fine. Good luck
Dr Oyalo herbs is really helpful, and have helped my son improve with his speech and social skill complete. My son now responds to name, his aggressive behavior has stoped completely

This happened to my 16 months old daughter. I had a very stressful job and put her in front of a tablet up to 6 to 7 hrs a day. We started noticing that she stopped responding to her name and her eye contact became poor. We panicked and I quit my job to stay home with both kids. We reduced the screen time to 1 hr a day and within 2 weeks she came back. She was only saying 3 words at age 20 months to saying up to words to 60 words by the time she was 22 months old!! Reducing the screen time completely shocked us.
My son was heavily exposed to screen when he was 15-18 months old. He spoke 8-10 words. I reduced his screen time and he started learning again. When he was around 23-28 months old he was exposed to screens again. He was almost unresponsive at 29 months. Now we removed screens. He is responding better but still has a long way to go. You are lucky your child showed early symptoms kuz at that age recovery is real fast. My son didn't have any noticeable symptoms until he turned 23 months old. Sadly, it'll take him much more time to recover.
Please please response This also happening with my 2yo3 month old girl, she is in front of the tv since she was 3 month old, at first I was happy that I could do my housework’s while she is watching tv and didn’t think that might harm her brain she learned counting colors ABC by watching and some phrases from Ms Rachel and I was happy thinking that she was learning to speak by watching tv, I started to notice autism like simptoms at the age of 20 months like lining up the toys not responding to her name when I call her no social interaction but she has 100% of eye contact and she can point shake nod her head to say yes or no, I stopped screen time and saw many develops for a few months and was happy that she wasn’t autistic (was my own opinion) again put her in front of the tv because I gave a birth to my second one, my 2 year old girl had recently diagnosed autism which is very sad and I guilt myself putting her in front of the tv again but as mother I don’t believe it because without screens she can develop all her skills I think if I work with her she can come back to normal life what do you think? Please response , as a mom I’m very worried and can’t sleep at night thinking of my daughter
I also want to add that she smiles at me and can share her emotions and understands my feelings ex. If I cry she comes to me and hugs me saying shshshsh or taps my head and also she loves her little sister hugs and kisses her everyday and also can tell me if she hits herself like I got a boo boo and shows me where is boo boo can tell me if she does poo poo, when they were examining her for autism she didn’t fully understand her commands as she doesn’t know English fully bec we speak uzbek at home and some English to her and she watches tv in English, and also she was distracted by so many new toys there and she didn’t pay attention to what they command to her, I think that’s why they diagnosed her autistic
Hello Thank yoy for sharing. As you must have seen in the video, reducing screen time, increasing paren-child and social interaction makes a significant difference in the child's skill development. Kindly consult a speech therapist for her to help develop speech and language skills and it would be wise to also begin schooling for her.
@@therapywithdrprabhjotthank you so much for your response I will definitely do that, for the past 3 days we stopped screen time for her and she is reacting to her name which gives me hope again, I will keep you updated what happens after a few months and after speech therapy so this would be one more experiment for you
Dear mam , Such a wonderful differentiation and to the point . My daughter currently 3 year her eye contact has always been best until now , around 18m we saw her respond to name totally stopped but she do come to us when we tell her we put tv , will give mobile . Just with name she dont. Exactly around 2.5 yrs - i stopped screen time to Zero . She started looking at us asking everything one one. She now can say any words , she corrects when we sing wrong , but functional language not developed. Around 2.10 months she started responding to name slowly. Now the consistency improved 80% and 100% with commands . Eye contact , she look at us say something or other whole day . She follow simple commands like go get the thing while play , come for food , go abd sit un your chair , get remote etc . She points at TV and ask rhymes by telling . She recently learned jumping so she keeps jumping . When excited she stimms on and off . She is currently undergoing speech therapy . Mam , what's your thoughts here ? Also , inside home she responds and makes great eye contact - but outsiders she does not do much , but improving much. Her speech therapist told - she responds twice in 30 minutes session , she kept goal 4 times. They said her receptive language is delayed . One thing i noticed recently is she is biting toys sometimes licks smooth surfaces in book or wall . don't know why and what should i do mam ?
Hello It does appear that your daughter has a language delay, receptive is because her responses got delayed which may be due to screen time exposure or lack of social interaction. If she bites and licks certain objects, please get her checked for nutritional deficiencies as she is looking specific surfaces only.

Hi, I have a 6 year old, he has shown great improvement in terms of engaging, he will use I want type of phrases, use english n Punjabi words, independent self care, dressing, eating, reading 3 letter words, number concepts. I want to know how to encourage more independent speech not just need based.
Thank you for sharing valuable information with parents. My son is 19 moths old, makes eye contact, plays, interacts, understands everything, responds to his name but only repeats one single word ( ball) because he loves balls. We do read books, play and talk with him. I am getting lost :(
Hello Thank you for the feedback. Keep interacting with your son as he has a good scope of gaining language as he is 19 months old only. The more he hears, the more he gains expressive speech.

@@Lachu89 much better When he turned 24 months, he started saying words I have been repeating since his birth overnight! Now he is 26 months and constantly repeating words, counting , recognising numbers and Colors… this is to say, every child is different and we should be easier on ourselves. Kind regards
Hi! My son initially in the beginning imitated us and played, but eventually he stopped. He had 7-8 hours of screen time everyday, from 1 year age he stopped eye contact, doesn’t respond to name, didn’t talk even a word, doesn’t understand emotions, doesn’t understand what I mean to say, doesn’t like interacting with other kids. But suddenly at age 2 he started singing rhymes, almost about 5-6 rhymes he knew by heart, but words not clear. Exact tunes. Learned ABCD by heart all by himself by watching youtube, even A for apple B for ball, numbers till 10 , now he is trying till 20. But all of this by himself. Whenever I try to interact with him he wont say anything. Now I have reduced screen time and enrolled him in preschool. He doesn’t interact there much. Also hand stimming is there. What should I do. Also he repeats words nowadays
Hello Only reducing screen time wil not help him gain skills. He needs speech, language, social skills, play skills and emotional skills to develop which can be done in a guided way. May I know how old is your son now?
Mam can a child with asd do well in life independently? My son is 2.10 now we have stopped his screen from 2 yrs he is improving gradually . He doesn't have sleep issues nor he is hyper only concern is his hand flapping n he has eye contact only with family members, he has few words babble a lot nowerdayz, participate well in almost all the activities we do with him. But meaningful speech is not there n he is not social with others Except family. Kindly reply what else we can do n will he recover completely? We take him outside Daily without fail engage him in activities for 3- 4 hrs daily.
Hello Along with engagement, please try to also work on his play initiation which opens the possibility for a child to start speech and socialise. Also, let him participate in play with other children in thr park, playground or children of his age around you.

Hello ma'am. My daughter is 15 months old. When she was around 8-9 months old, she used to speak words like papa, aaji, (we don't know whether she understood the meaning of those words or she just used to repeat after us). She used to give high- five (hand gestures), used to say mau while noticing the cat. Used to say bhubhu when she noticed a dog. Due to my stressful job we gave her around 4 hours of screentime everyday, especially watched cocomelon on UA-cam. We have noticed her lack of response to her name, poor eye contact, playing only with toys since 2 months. But she recognises initial music of Cocomelon even if she is in another room and soon comes to watch it. We have stopped her screen since 2 days. We are so much worried ma'am. We feel guilty . Is it autism? If yes, it is classical or virtual autism? Is there any hope for her recovery and restoring normalcy?😢
Hello Please replace her screen time with parent child interaction and taking her to parks or playgrounds where she gets to observe other children. Also, try to play with her as much as you can as she is quite young and has ample opportunities to learn.
15:13 time. Hi ma’am I am staying in London. I gave 5-6 hrs screen time daily to my son since the age of 6 months. He said 2-3 words at the age of 1 year but now he is not saying even a single word. I have stopped the screen time completely and interact a lot with him but he doesn’t even try to talk. He will turn 2.5 years old in December. He understands everything but just don’t say a single word. Do you think it is autism?
Hello When you say he understands everything, does it mean he can follow your instructions, point to required items and nod or shake his head to indicate yes or no?
@@therapywithdrprabhjot he can point to required items, follow my instructions, can point to all fruits, animals, shapes and body parts but not saying any single word. He is just babbling and he will turn 2.5 years old next month. Is it case of virtual autism?

My son is 2.2 year old...he too expose to mobile by the age of 1.6 and i stopped screen time at 2 years.... He maintain eye contact with us only but not with neighbors or relatives, less name call response, he have pointing skill, pretend play, use gesture for asking something to eat, shows bye gives flying kiss, imitate us he will copies what we do, understand some comands and instructions like load the washing machine, put the vessels in sink, go to bathroom like wise at same time he have poor sleeping patterns, throws tantrums and meltdown, he started to bite others., aggressive play with same age kids, now a days he not interested to wear dress, he always rubs hard textures, climb in shelf, throws all object and thing etc... Is he autistic or virtual autistic.. Its difficult for us to assess.. Some therapist saying he is normal he have speech delay alone... Some therapist saying that he has autism symptoms.... As a parent we are very confused...
Hello Thank you for the details. Eye contact and aggressive behaviour do not confirm autism. Please work on your child's behaviour as his social skills and play skills seem to be limited. Also, if he has tantrums and meltdowns then it is usually reinforced by giving in to the child's wishes mostly. You can refer to my videos on disruptive behaviours and behaviour management from the playlist of peditaric therapy.

Aur aap bhi uske saath age-qppropriate play aur activities kijiye, uski learning mein help kijiye, park leke jaiye jisse uska improvement bhi jaldi hoga.

How to improve him except those mentioned by you that I'm already going to follow religiously
Hi Mam. I'm facing same issue for last 11 months. My daughter is now 2 years 10 Months old. We found that she is affected by Virtual Autism at her 1 year 11 months. Till her 1.5 years age she was good in social interaction, eye contacts and playing. But after that everything is stopped due to 7 to 8 hrs of mobile phone. We stopped the screening at her 2 years. And started interaction with her. Then i contact came back but not fully. She was developing well. Then we were lethargic that she is developing. Again we started concentrating on our works, parallelly we have interacted with her also but not enough i think. Screening is zero. She is learning and forgetting, learning and forgetting. This is wat happening. Initially lot of improvements was there, but then it is saturated. And new autistic symptoms are coming. Often regression is there. Last 20 days we started putting her in speech therapy and OT. I don't know this virtual autism is permanent or slowly it will get improve. If so how many years or months it will take. Some times she is giving quick response and some times it is very poor. Receptive language also some times it is good and sometimes it is she couldn't understand. Pls reply
Hello If you have started speech tgerapy and OT with her, then give her some time to improve her learning of skills and please start schooling for her so she can interact in a social group.

Hii mam my daughter is now 2.4 and I realised she was not responding to name no eye contact and no social interaction at age of 20 months then I started to reduce screen time slowly. Now from last month screen completely stopped and she started to interact with father, brother and uncle before she wants only me and some time she like to play with my son like running jumping and riding on bike but acording to her own choice she bubbling she set on one place to eating. But after stopping screen I noticed some symptoms of autism are fades away . Some she sowing new like stopped running in hose not set on one place toe walk also less now . New is she showing when she set on one place with toys some time she showin corner eyes and she jump alone and forget some words before she says muma but not to me but now not she she speaks new words but not interactive speech . But her these activities not over like not like mad when i says stop then she stop .now she sleeps good at night and her eyes contact is also improve . Is this virtual symptom or classic because I stopped screen from last month some time I’m positive and some time negative please guide me
Hello Aapki daughter mein skills develop ho rahi hain. But usse apne peers ke sarh social interaction karwaiye by taking her to playground and interacting with them. Play skills pe focus zyada kijiye as play helps develop creativity, associative play, communication as well as learning.
Thanks dear. I live in Canada I went to park with her but here is snow I plan to come india because in in my in-law family is joint so she interact with more persons . Here only me with her because my boy go to school and husband always on work 7 am to 7 pm
And one thing more please till now she not responding to name . I always call her by name now from last two weeks when I call her she repeats her name some time she talks alnone she says her own name is it okay or something wrong
Keep calling her by her name consistently even if her response is inconsistent. But the name should not be called out without reason- as part of activities, calling for self-care activities etc.

I was too late knowing about this but still struggle to see if its classic or virtual autism. My son was normal/ social will play on swings till almost 2 years except for limited words. Even before this i was giving him hours of screen time. Our work plus me getting pregnant when he was 1 year old and covid came so him not seeing no one and no daycare put a toll on me that I gave him screen time more than 5 hours. When my sister lost job due to covid she got couple months and got time so she concentrated on his academics and taught him reading, numbers, animals/ birds/ shapes/ fruits/ vegetables / rymes etc.. he was very good at reading by 3 and half years old, But no full sentences to form conversation..So We went to the american school since they will give free speech therapy and they suspected mild autism. He has eye contact but his red flags are echolalia, hyperlexia, and he does play one on one with children but that was also poor social skill according to them. After this diagnosis only i learned more about virtual autism and started asking if they misdiagnosed my son or not. He looked shy to me but will warm up to strangers after some time. Now he is almost 5 and He is okey playing with 8 years to 10 years old due to them understanding him since he speaks limited. When its time to leave my son will go back and hug his favorite older brother (8 -10 yr ) he has received may be 6 months of speech therapy 2 times a week so far, he can’t hold conversation like if i ask how was school? Do you have friends? What did you learn? Then its hard to answer. He responds to his name well even if he is watching TV now. He is clear in wants and needs. He will say “ i need water, can i have chocolate please, lets go play upstairs, can i go outside and jump on trampoline.. etc. these are the improvements from speech therapy. He had meltdowns at 4.5 years but it reduced to almost zero now he got more words, the only abnormal part except speech now is clapping hands when he gets bored and repeating what he learned in school/ tv( delayed echolilia🤔)also feels like some developmental delays, but wondering if speech delay and excess screen time can cause developmental delays as well???School occupational therapist was saying he is not really bad that he is in borderline but took him in and will give 1 session every 8 weeks for the sake of the teacher who keep saying his hands are little week. he is Afraid of swings, but loves slides. I didn’t diagnose him officially due to messed up american system just if his os very mild or if its a misdiagnosis it will end up not getting a good job in future cuse all you medical information is tied up to your background checks and social security card.. Last week i started to give supplemental speech therapy from outside 2 days 30 min session a week. That SLP did one hour non diagnostical evalv on him and said he have enough words for a 4.5 years old but has trouble connecting it into sentences and put the name expressive language disorder for insurance claim. I asked if he has any autism and she said she cannot diagnose it according to american law but can see some traits but not sure for real. Any way next month i am going to start supplemental occupational therapy as well. Do u think there is still a chance he can be normal? He is okey sharing his personal space but not too social, does virtual autism has these traits? The classic autistic symptoms of echolilia/ hand clapping and talking while walking when get boared would it be mimicked for a child who has sit at home for 2 years and not seeing anyone and have extreme screen time plus less coversation amoung us due to work or for real only autism can have these symptoms not virtual autism? Any ways he is improving but my question is approximately how many years for him to catch up? His academics are great according to teacher. Follows simple instructions but cannot handle complex sentences. I have to wait till i come to india for proper diagnosis, but once again i hate my husbands people to compare him so we didnt come to india for past 3 years nd waiting to get his speech to conversation level so we can go Do you do any virtual sessions from india???
Hello I have read your comment thoroughly and i appreciate ypur effort to want to egt your child independent while trying to take care of his needs. As far as your child's functioning for speech, milestones and socialisation goes, it is NOT lagging considerably. It does seem like an after effect of screen time and less socialisation. This can improve if he follows a regular program for about an year focusing on behaviour techniques, pragmatics of speech and social skills training. As for your last query, yes I do conduct online sessions. If you wish to further discuss with me, please contact at prabhjotot2004@gmail.com

Hello Some purposeful screen time does not harm children as at school it may be an interactive session. Kindly try to build up on your child's social, emotional and communication skills for better results and bring her to an age- appropriate developmental level. Hi mam, my 16monts old son has speech delay, he can imitate sounds, he is trying to sing back when i sing rhymes, he will enjoy time with his big sister, he will say some words like akka(sis in our language), cow, car infact very few but he will observe but will not speak, he will say some animal sounds, he will recognise his dad, sis, grandmother and me, he will give smile if say hi and call him with his name, he will say hi, bye and will give hifi, he will show his stomach, nose, head if we ask, he will do some actions also. I have done a mistake that i will play TV while he is eating and sometimes while doing household work as i dont have support. Forgot to mention that he will walkaway and dont like to hold him, he fell down from bed when he was 6months but CT scan showed all normal and he got febrile ceisure when he was 10months. Please give reply, is this normal or need to worry and how to overcome this. Thank you
Hello Thank you for sharing. Your child is developing fine and he is taking some time to learn language. Give him till 2 years of age to pick up on that. As for the screen time, kindly try to provide more toys than screens to help in play-based learning. If he does not like to be held much, it is okay. Kindly try to add playground time for him which will boost both his social skills and communication.

Hi....my son is 19 months old ..... at 17 months old i observed he is not responding to his name at not pointing.....he used to babble and wave bye bye at 10 to 12 months but then stopped waving after 14 month......he got excessive screentime since 11 months old and very less outdoor and interaction........ After talking to a psychologist and learning about virtual autism i stopped mobile .....now since 2 full months no screen at all.....playing a lot with him taking him outside....he started pointing after 40 days.....he is saying 4 words almost clearly and 8 words not much clear but i understand.....he repeats the words a lot....like when he learnt saying car.....he used to repeat it a lot like verbal stimming.....he says nana for banana then repeat too much.....in short almost 10 to 15 words he knows but repeats too much......will his speech come and become clear with time? Im reading books to him he also responds and points some objects in books when i ask where is apple where is car etc.....i mean he is getting and understanding things
Hello When a child is learning words initially they repeat it a lot as their own way of registering and is NOT stimming. Keep interacting with him and givr him social experiences. Tjis will facilitate both his language development and social skills.
Ir is still okay to at least take him to a park or playground so he gets a chance to observe them, try to play similar games with him to ease him into social play.
Thank you Dr Oyalo for healing my son from autism. And I want to share about him to every one. His herbs has made my son verbal and Improve in social skills
Would stimming be apart of virtual autism? My son started stimming while watching miss rachel at about 9 months. That has improved a little but but now he paces and rocks back and forth while standing and watching tv. He used to talk and babble more than he does now and he’s 18 months now. I just started reducing screen time and more play time. Hoping I can reverse this.
Hello Your way of getting him to reduce screen time and involve in play is applaudible. Keep working the same way and he will develop his milestones well.

Hello It appears she is still learning the meaning of words and vocabulary. Try to work with the grammer with small sentences (3-4 words only). Most important while talking to her use small sentences where she can follow them before giving her the next step. Too many instructions confuse children and it is hard to figure out what to respond to or answer. Try to ask simple what, where questions and say answers to guide her.

I'm wondering if my son has this. We suspected he might have ADHD, he was quite talkative and constantly interrupts others conversations, but then suddenly he stopped talking at 6yrs old. The change in behavior was quite sudden. He would not make eye contact, and any response we can force out of him are usually limited to a yes or no, or short phrases at very low voice. We had him checked by a pediatric neuro, who diagnosed him as having ADHD, but the sudden language regression is still under observation as it has only been a little over a month when he stopped talking.
Hello If your son has reduced his talking secondary to screen time, then it may be virtual autism. If his response has reduced, kindly rule out emotional stress or reduced interaction with peers as a cause.
My child is 19 months now i have observed and in tension becoz she responds to rhymes but doesn't reply ro her own name. What should i do should i contact some doctor

Namaste Madam.Main WB se hu aur aapki channel follow karti hu . Mera beta 5yrs ka hai .Birth k baad wo rone mein late kia.Bachpan se eye contact tha.Screen timing bahut tha . Padne likhne mein hosiar hai. Lekin kam bolta hai ,kisi k sawal ka jawab nehi deta isske liye mujhe kya karna chahiye? Namaste madam.
Namaste Mera channel follow karne ke liye thank you. Agar aapka beta studies mein achha hai aur bas socially kam baat karta hai to uska social settings mein confidence badhane pe work kijiye. 1. Usse regular park leke jaiye aur wahan aur bachhon ke sath play mein involve kare. 2. Jab aap ghar ke samaan ki shopping ke liye jaye to use participate karwaye jaise shelf se samaan lena aur counter pe rakhna. 3. Agar ghar pe play ke liye 1-2 bachhe aa sakte hain to uska play group create kijiye. Ye usse confident banne mein help karega. And usse regular school, friends, favourite games aur toys ki baat kijiye.
WH questions ke liye aap simple what, when ya whicb se shuru kare aur baad mein why questions try kare. Agar answers nahi de paye to aap guide kar sakte hain answering starting with what questions.

Hello Aap agar uska screen time kam kar denge so use play mein interest badega aur socialisation mein bhi. Use regular parks ya playground mein leke jaiye. Initially wo pareshan hoga screen time kam karne pe but use play mein involve kijiye.

Mam…please explain the difference between regression in classical autism vs virtual autism. Want to know if my child regressed from classical or has virtual autism.
Hello Regression is simply when a child in the initial months or years developed social- emotional and communication skills by age. However, if there were limited socialization opportunities with added screen time, the child may regress in their development which forms the basis of virtual autism. Classical autism presents as delayed development of communication, social skillns with additional sensory needs as it has a neurological basis.

Hello doc! My son is 1.9 yrs old he was on screen time when he was 4months old until he was 1.7yr old my problem is he don't respond his name but he has a good eye contact he follow what i point to my hand no tiptoe no lining toys no tantrums when i talk to him he look at me in my eye he smile at me and laugh is that because of screen time doc that's why my son did not respond to his name and last doc did the developmental pedia know if your son had only virtual autism and not a classic autism by the way our first assessment is on October 30 2023 i hope you answer me doc❤
Hello Thank you for the comment. It does appear that your child has a response but but expression and receptive has not developed yet. He may be responding to your facial expressions. As you say he has eye contact and no obvious sensory or repetitive behaviours, please rule out any hearing issue and, hoping it is not, you may work on his receptive language that is understanding what you say to facilitate his speech. It may not be classical or virtual autism.
Yes it is possible as hearing deficits can happen for different frequencies of sounds. In simple words he may hear loud sounds or sounds at close range but may not hear sounds at a distance.

@saburali8775 asking for what he wants depends on how his speech therapy is going. If during sessions only repeating sentences or words is practiced then he will only do that. You need to work on his speech initiation.
Very beautifully explained mam..what i feel after listening this vedio is my son is having virtual autism ... He is still having difficulty in imitation.. i mean socialization....rather things he is doing good...can this be a reason because he is not taken to social places? And please make a vedio on how to teach pretend play if school rules for a beginner kid....plz mam

Respected Mam, While 1 year old, my son was good at eye contact, speaking and social interaction. But at the age of 2.5 we realized he doesn't respond to name, no social smile or interaction due to 8 hours of screen time. We took him to grandparents house where there were 15 people and he lived there for 2 months. He started interacting and now he is 3 years and 4 months old. He understands all emotions, he makes sentences like let's go to kitchen, I want banana, i want that, it's mine and he responds to what, where questions and can convert some pronouns too. Social smile is good but social interaction is not that good. What do you recommend Mam?
Hello It appears that a healthy social interaction is working beautifully with him. As his social, emotional and communication skills are developing naturally now, please try to work with him at home rather than burdening him with therapies. Kindly refer to some videos by therapists for any specific concern you may face.
@eesasubhani591 no. Actually this post was 6 months ago. He speaks a lot of words,, understands everything word and sentence and can read 7 grade books also. No issue with eye contact and other things. The only issue is he doesn't know how to socialize. He was never autistic Actually I searched a lot and found he is hyperlexia 3. Hope it helps

Hello From your description, it appears it may be virtual autism as by 18 months many children only talk in basic words so we cannot be sure there was a speech delay or not. Is she saying words now? And how are her play skills?
@@therapywithdrprabhjot only babbling communicating her needs through pointing...she likes to play with peer group n play n interaction is normal as the playschool teacher told us
Hello It is never too late to help in the child's development and overcoming the challenges. Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy will help her wirh sensory and speech domains. Rest depends on the domains she has challenges with.
My child normal up to 1.30 years after saw phone and tv lot she regressing words now 3 years old she has no tv and phone. Pointing objects and seeing books and good eye contact. She said few single words after reading books. Pointing object in book and she said what maa? She understand regular sentences. She was not chewing food . She has some autistic features like wheels rounding ,bike expressing and so crying in hospital and school mam what can i do? mam
Hello It seems your child has developed a visual seeking behaviour as seeing moving wheels, moving bikes, movement in car is what she likes. That is why she cries when car stops as she cannot enjoy the moving vehicles passing by anymore. You can work on activities where visual seeking is addressed. May I know why does she go to hospital?
@@therapywithdrprabhjot We took her to the hospital because she had symptoms of autism. But she eye contact very good and reading books and telling me. can an older child be afflicted with virtual autism? my son was already 6-1/2 years old when he had language regression, became non-conversant, lost the ability to make eye-contact, stopped playing with other kids. prior to that, he was very smart, can speak almost 3 languages, can do simple math, can read and write. the doctor diagnosed him with CDD as it was the closest match to his symptoms, but my son didn't lose bladder and bowel control, nor did he lose the ability to walk. I can see him matching the symptoms you've discussed, except for the age? so does virtual autism only affect toddlers?
Hello CDD could be a possibility but would you relate the regression of your son's social, play and communication abilities to excessivr screen time and reduced social interaction including parent- child interaction?
it's hard to say, since his symptoms started when school ended. he was spending more time using his tablet, practically the whole day. I would describe him as hyperactive prior to his autism symptoms presenting, quite talkative and would constantly interrupt other people's conversations, stands up and runs out of his classroom, kicks the seat in front of him in class. which is why initially he was initially diagnosed with ADHD. then when he started getting quiet, we just assumed he was learning to behave himself. however, the doctor said his inattentive was presenting, making him a combined type ADHD. but within a month, he became non-conversant, lost eye contact, lost social skills. and when the new school year started, his symptoms became more prominent, even developed stims like hand-flapping. every now and then he will say some random words we can understand, but generally won't speak to anyone anymore. it's basically like a late onset of autism, as he is 6-1/2 years old, ergo the CDD diagnosis. however, I do wonder if virtual autism is something that a 6 year old can get?
@@therapywithdrprabhjot he is still using it, but we have reduced his screen time, and lately he seems to get bored with the tablet, and he would stop using it on his own. before, if we didn't take it away from him, he would use it the whole day. to give you a brief timeline: April 2023: end of school (Kindergarten), we noticed the change in behaviour, most noticeable is the language regression, speaking less and less May 2023: became non-conversant, lost eye-contact, lost social skills. June 2023: diagnosed with ADHD combined type, from being hyperactive to inattentive. July 2023: new school year, start of 1st grade. Teacher reported to us that he would not speak and would stay seated the whole day in class. Would not talk with classmates, and hand-flapping became more prominent. after 2 weeks, we removed him from school and admitted him to the hospital for work-up. All tests came back negative or clear. Working diagnosis given is CDD. August 2023: moved him to a Special Education school, and goes to OT (started in June) and ST (started in September) as recommended by doctor. September 2023: hand-flapping has stopped, but developed a new stim, humming all day as if he is talking. We still hear some random words every now and then, but still non-conversant. The eye-contact has improved a little bit, unlike before where he would totally avoid, now he gives fleeting eye contact.

Hello ma'am ..my son is 20 month old and he was exposed very much to TV mobile since he was 1 month of age..on 18 month we noticed that his eye contact is poor and he doesn't respond to his name ..he speaks babababa more to communicate other than this he say papapapa gaga Dada Tata Kay Kay and kya ..also baby but these words has no meaning for understanding..he doesn't wave hand to hi but from the beginning he does headfy ..musti time gesture when we hit our head slowly and shake to show love ..he loves rhymes when I sing for him ..I do this with action but he doesn't copy only smile and laugh..same with animal sounds..we stopped screen completely one month ago and his eye contact is now perfectly ok and 50% time he responds to his name but he spins objects and no meaningfull speech ..can u please tell what kind of delay is this ?
Hello It appears your child has delay in both communication and social skills. Please try to engage him with similar age kids to improve his peer interaction. Also use 1 step instructions with him which is easier to follow and show him how to respond with 1-2 words.
Ma'am, my son has a speech delay. Now he has imprpved a lot after I started functionally facilitating speech. I had taken a parental coaching for the same from a speech therapist. As of now, my major issue is his behaviour at school. We are not getting a solution from therapy centre also. He tears, scribbles and throws away his books and other's books also. Why is this happening ma'am, how do we overcome this?
Hello It appears that he has some emotional dysregulation at school which could either be due to limitation in his communication or social skills. Have you observed any sensory needs in him?
His social skill is poor as he doesn't have that much language to communicate. He is not expanding his language. He can speak need based things to me at home. But still he tries to mingle with other kids. He speaks to them how much ever he can. (This was told by his teacher)
@soumyanair6368 this shows that his limited communication may be interfering with him socialising, understanding teacher's instructions, completing his work and thus the emotional dysregulation.
If the child watch mobile since 2 years to 5 years he has that habit of many years definitely it takes time to be calm after till then he throws tantrums
Hello If your child is not getting aggressive during tantrums, please use self regulation techniques like diatracting with toy, favorite food, taking out, physical activities to vent out anger or soft music. Each child has their way of calming down.

Hello It is not only about removing screen but working on parent child interaction and social skills too. If he doesn't find anyone to play and interact with, he won't be able to learn.
Hi mam, after screen off my kid learnt many words but she is forgetting them easily, after few days she stopped saying and new sensory issues are seen. Is it classic or virtual please tell
Hello In Speech if the child learns words but either does not understand the context of using them OR is not able to use them on a regular basis as gestures are enough to get things done, then the child reverts to not talking. It is not forgetfulness but lack of need to use words and language. can you tell me what are the new sensory issues you observed?

Hi Madam, My child started watching TV when he was 8 month or earlier before he developed any Speach & morning to evening. He has no repeating behaviours & has good eye contact. But not speaking ( can count 1 to 20 & A to z ) he stopped watching TV at 2.9 year & but progress is slow Could it be virtual autism?
It could be. But tru to work on your child's communication and social skills more. He may lag behind in social interaction with peers. How old is your child now?
@@therapywithdrprabhjot Hi Mdama He is 3.4 years & he was trapped in house since his birth due to corona & couldn’t go out , only my wife was with him but she also busy with home work & my child was along watching TV whole the day & no other family members in home to interact with him. He is very friendly happy child and has good social smile. But no pointing & less responds to name. Now we he is going to play school & he is very happy to go there.
My child was exposed to the tv since the day he was born until 1 year old and and never took time to play with him or talk to him amd he was also my first child in the bas area no friend no kids, how could i tell if it is classic or virtual?
Hello It will depend on how is your child's overall development. Gross motor, fine motor, social-emotional skills, play skills and general behaviour. If you can elaborate them, I may be able to guide you better.
@@therapywithdrprabhjot good morning well, let start by that, he was diagnosed with autism at 1 year old and at 3 years old with severe and developmental delay and he has a bad hyperactivity which stopped me from trying to help him . But now he is almost 5 . I started anyway to help him and he is improving with cognition, following some instructions, good eye contact, trying to imitate , he can say maman , papa, nana as banana , ke as cake , honey, etc… knowing the meaning. And now he can wave by saying baba instead byebye. He can hold a glass of water and drink, holds the ball to throw to someone else who is playing with him, he can hold the spoon to eat , he uses his fingers to to eat, to hold the small thing ,im working with him in term of fine motor and gross motor and i can see some improvement. As i said in my first comment since he was born i never gave him time , he was on the screen till night when you bring him to sleep, and his sleep was extremely affected because even at night at 2 am he will wake up and crying then you put him on the screen to calm him. But the day we stopped the screen , that day he slept the whole night. We were sure it was virtual autism but when we see other kids with CONSTIPATION then we stopped believing that our kid was affected by the screen because he also started to suffer from CONSTIPATION since we introduced him on milk at 2 months. In term of playing he likes playing at lot But in teaching him the proper way to play with toys. I hope you get time to read me Thank you.
By going through how your child's developmental history has been, it may have been virtual autism. But due to lack of sensory, social and play exposure, he never developed any age-appropriate developmenral skills. As you started working with him by 5 years of age, he needs to learn many skills in addition to overcoming hyperactivity and behaviour issues. Kindly keep him off screen completely and keep working on his skill development. Most importantly let him have maximum sensory exposure through play.
@@therapywithdrprabhjot i stopped the milk when he turned one, but till today he’s still struggling with constipation like he cannot survive without magnesium i follow gluten free, dairy free, plant milk like almond ,sugar free, homemade food , almost organic food. And he is on the diet since 2019 but we never seen any improvement.
there is hope moms. my son addicted screen. no name respons, no eye contact, no social skill. i stopped when he was 3y8m, now he is 4y6m. he become so nice talky litle boy, perfect eye contact and fast name respons.
the rest are, hyperactivity still there but reduced alot and weak social skill.
so far as i know, the big difference between classic and virtual autism is about sensory. virtual autism doesn't have any sensory issues, such as picky food, repetitive behaviour, avoiding some clothes, doesn't want to have hair cut or nail cut.
hope my litle note spreading hope for us.
what i do to help him in recovery are :
1. stop screen time at all
2. play alot with him
3. give a lot of story books and todler comics than reading together with him
4. kindergarden 3days a week
5. put some sound that help to calm, can be classic music or religion soun. in my case, im muslim so i put quran on foe 24 hours

The most helpful advice I've come across so far. Thank you so much
my daughter was 3.6 months old and had autism symptoms like no eye contact, and no name response, playing with toys and books most of the time as she started watching UA-cam rhymes starting 1.2 months to 3 years, and we stopped screen time at 3.4 and started speech therapy.
Hello
Thank you for sharing this.
Good luck

This happened to my 16 months old daughter. I had a very stressful job and put her in front of a tablet up to 6 to 7 hrs a day. We started noticing that she stopped responding to her name and her eye contact became poor. We panicked and I quit my job to stay home with both kids. We reduced the screen time to 1 hr a day and within 2 weeks she came back. She was only saying 3 words at age 20 months to saying up to words to 60 words by the time she was 22 months old!! Reducing the screen time completely shocked us.
I appreciate how you realised the cause and effectively applied the necessary action.
How many days I show screen
Great video!!! Thank you!

Sorry for the long explanation I hope you reply to me and understand my situation
Hello
Thank yoy for sharing.
Hello
It does appear that your daughter has a language delay, receptive is because her responses got delayed which may be due to screen time exposure or lack of social interaction.
If she bites and licks certain objects, please get her checked for nutritional deficiencies as she is looking specific surfaces only.

Along with engagement, please try to also work on his play initiation which opens the possibility for a child to start speech and socialise.
Also, let him participate in play with other children in thr park, playground or children of his age around you.
Also a 2-3 year old child usually engages in parallel play which is playing around other children or sharing play material.

She used to give high- five (hand gestures), used to say mau while noticing the cat. Used to say bhubhu when she noticed a dog.

Is he autistic or virtual autistic.. Its difficult for us to assess.. Some therapist saying he is normal he have speech delay alone... Some therapist saying that he has autism symptoms.... As a parent we are very confused...
Hello
Thank you for the details.
Eye contact and aggressive behaviour do not confirm autism. Please work on your child's behaviour as his social skills and play skills seem to be limited. Also, if he has tantrums and meltdowns then it is usually reinforced by giving in to the child's wishes mostly.

Aur aap bhi uske saath age-qppropriate play aur activities kijiye, uski learning mein help kijiye, park leke jaiye jisse uska improvement bhi jaldi hoga.

Ma'am my 22months son has been exposed to screen from 6months old.till 16months almost he was pointing to things using single word like Lizard or moon tv.eye contact was also good.but gradually he stopped eye contact,no response to name, zero social interaction.but he was never afraid of loud noise or people.now after 15days of zero screentime his eye contact has been way better.he smiles or laughs to his familiar songs or rhymes or in the sound of drinking tea by me. if i play hide and seek with him he won't himself play but will uncover my face and laugh seeing me.but again no response to name or social skill and pacing activity like walking all around the house slamming to doors.

Pls reply

Is this virtual symptom or classic because I stopped screen from last month some time I’m positive and some time negative please guide me
Hello
Aapki daughter mein skills develop ho rahi hain.

I have to wait till i come to india for proper diagnosis, but once again i hate my husbands people to compare him so we didnt come to india for past 3 years nd waiting to get his speech to conversation level so we can go
Do you do any virtual sessions from india???
Hello
I have read your comment thoroughly and i appreciate ypur effort to want to egt your child independent while trying to take care of his needs.

Some purposeful screen time does not harm children as at school it may be an interactive session.

Thank you
Hello
Thank you for sharing.

Hello
When a child is learning words initially they repeat it a lot as their own way of registering and is NOT stimming. Keep interacting with him and givr him social experiences. Tjis will facilitate both his language development and social skills.
Thanku for Ur reply.....he doesn't like to go near kids and gets irritated if I try to make him interact with someone...what should I do for it
Ir is still okay to at least take him to a park or playground so he gets a chance to observe them, try to play similar games with him to ease him into social play.

Hey how's your son now
Would stimming be apart of virtual autism? My son started stimming while watching miss rachel at about 9 months. That has improved a little but but now he paces and rocks back and forth while standing and watching tv. He used to talk and babble more than he does now and he’s 18 months now. I just started reducing screen time and more play time. Hoping I can reverse this.

Hello
It appears she is still learning the meaning of words and vocabulary.

Hello
If your son has reduced his talking secondary to screen time, then it may be virtual autism.
If his response has reduced, kindly rule out emotional stress or reduced interaction with peers as a cause.
My child is 19 months now i have observed and in tension becoz she responds to rhymes but doesn't reply ro her own name. What should i do should i contact some doctor
Kindly contact a pediatrician to get an overview of the child's functioning- motor skills, speech, social skills etc

1. Usse regular park leke jaiye aur wahan aur bachhon ke sath play mein involve kare.
2. Jab aap ghar ke samaan ki shopping ke liye jaye to use participate karwaye jaise shelf se samaan lena aur counter pe rakhna.
3. Agar ghar pe play ke liye 1-2 bachhe aa sakte hain to uska play group create kijiye.
Ye usse confident banne mein help karega. And usse regular school, friends, favourite games aur toys ki baat kijiye.

Mam…please explain the difference between regression in classical autism vs virtual autism. Want to know if my child regressed from classical or has virtual autism.
Hello
Regression is simply when a child in the initial months or years developed social- emotional and communication skills by age.
However, if there were limited socialization opportunities with added screen time, the child may regress in their development which forms the basis of virtual autism.
Classical autism presents as delayed development of communication, social skillns with additional sensory needs as it has a neurological basis.

Hello
Thank you for the comment.
@@therapywithdrprabhjot thanks for the answer doc! can i ask doc if there's a case that he act on sound but still have a hearing loss ?
Yes it is possible as hearing deficits can happen for different frequencies of sounds. In simple words he may hear loud sounds or sounds at close range but may not hear sounds at a distance.

Hello
It appears that a healthy social interaction is working beautifully with him.
As his social, emotional and communication skills are developing naturally now, please try to work with him at home rather than burdening him with therapies.

From your description, it appears it may be virtual autism as by 18 months many children only talk in basic words so we cannot be sure there was a speech delay or not.
Is she saying words now? And how are her play skills?

My child normal up to 1.30 years after saw phone and tv lot she regressing words now 3 years old she has no tv and phone. Pointing objects and seeing books and good eye contact. She said few single words after reading books. Pointing object in book and she said what maa? She understand regular sentences. She was not chewing food . She has some autistic features like wheels rounding ,bike expressing and so crying in hospital and school mam what can i do? mam
Very angry and aggressive behaviour in hospital mam i am so depressed
She cries when the vehicle stops while traveling
Hello
It seems your child has developed a visual seeking behaviour as seeing moving wheels, moving bikes, movement in car is what she likes. That is why she cries when car stops as she cannot enjoy the moving vehicles passing by anymore.
You can work on activities where visual seeking is addressed.
May I know why does she go to hospital?

Is spinning and running around a symptom also of virtual autism?
Hello
It can be as repetitive behaviours can be observed.
can an older child be afflicted with virtual autism?
my son was already 6-1/2 years old when he had language regression, became non-conversant, lost the ability to make eye-contact, stopped playing with other kids. prior to that, he was very smart, can speak almost 3 languages, can do simple math, can read and write.
the doctor diagnosed him with CDD as it was the closest match to his symptoms, but my son didn't lose bladder and bowel control, nor did he lose the ability to walk.
I can see him matching the symptoms you've discussed, except for the age? so does virtual autism only affect toddlers?
Hello
CDD could be a possibility but would you relate the regression of your son's social, play and communication abilities to excessivr screen time and reduced social interaction including parent- child interaction?
it's hard to say, since his symptoms started when school ended. he was spending more time using his tablet, practically the whole day.
Yes it is a possibility but how his behaviours have changed over time is not completely in line with CDD either.
Is he using his tablet anymore?
@@therapywithdrprabhjot he is still using it, but we have reduced his screen time, and lately he seems to get bored with the tablet, and he would stop using it on his own.
before, if we didn't take it away from him, he would use it the whole day.
to give you a brief timeline:
April 2023: end of school (Kindergarten), we noticed the change in behaviour, most noticeable is the language regression, speaking less and less
May 2023: became non-conversant, lost eye-contact, lost social skills.

Is stimming a symptom of virtual autism?
Hello
Children may want to explore sensory behaviours because their play has not expanded from sensory to social and associative play and it may present as stimming.
Does virtual autism really exist?y doctors nt recognise it?does it really recover?
Hello
As it is not a diagnostic term in itself, it is usually mentioned as delayed speech -language skills and social- emotional skills.
@@therapywithdrprabhjotbut not responding to name n stimming is something that shows its not just delay
Stimming is observed as the child is used to some sensory inputs more than others and anxiety and emotional dysregulation also contribute to stimming.

The same techniques work with classical autism also
Ma'am, my son has a speech delay.
Hello
It appears that he has some emotional dysregulation at school which could either be due to limitation in his communication or social skills. Have you observed any sensory needs in him?
@@therapywithdrprabhjot regarding sensory needs, i have observed that he likes hugging and cuddles. He is already 11 years old.
How are his social skills?
His social skill is poor as he doesn't have that much language to communicate. He is not expanding his language. He can speak need based things to me at home. But still he tries to mingle with other kids. He speaks to them how much ever he can. (This was told by his teacher)
@soumyanair6368 this shows that his limited communication may be interfering with him socialising, understanding teacher's instructions, completing his work and thus the emotional dysregulation.
If the child watch mobile since 2 years to 5 years he has that habit of many years definitely it takes time to be calm after till then he throws tantrums

Hello
It will depend on how is your child's overall development.
Gross motor, fine motor, social-emotional skills, play skills and general behaviour.
If you can elaborate them, I may be able to guide you better.
@@therapywithdrprabhjot good morning
well, let start by that, he was diagnosed with autism at 1 year old and at 3 years old with severe and developmental delay and he has a bad hyperactivity which stopped me from trying to help him .
In term of playing he likes playing at lot
But in teaching him the proper way to play with toys.
I hope you get time to read me
Thank you.
