As someone who has done the Bob Graham I'm always a little suspicious of people making films about their attempt. They never seem to capture the spirit of the day, or the sacrifices that the support crew make to help someone realise their dream.....but this film did. Kristina comes across as a down to earth lass, who's truly humbled that virtual strangers have come out to support her on the 5 different legs. And that's what's so special about The Bob Graham, the ethos of helping people realise their dreams. A great film!
Thank you so much for the kind words. I'm really proud of the film and it means a lot when someone who's done the Bob Graham Round thinks it's well made. Thank you very much
Very inspiring, not just Kristina's story but also all those amazing people that helped out just for the love of the challenge and the community. Pretty much how we should approach all aspects of our lives.
Well done! Kristina’s narration with the long-view of her climb up that class three route sent chills up my spine! Of course she was a boxer! She is amazing!!!!!
Fantastic video. Trail running, mountain running, fell running, call it what you like, it's more than a sport, it's a way of connecting to nature which is pure. Well done everyone involved in this film.
What a wonderful hour watching from a distant Christchurch in NZ. Loved your laidback but totally respectful and onto it approach to the effort. I grew up in the Lakes in the 70s and privileged to meet Joss Naylor in 2009. Friend John Fitch, from our South island, written into the green BG book. Come over our way once the world settles down. We have superb terrain and great events.
I have a friend from Scotland living in Christchurch, his names Andy. He's pretty big into running and various other things, you might come across him one day 😁👍🏻
This is such a beautiful, inspiring film, incredibly well shot. I can’t imagine anyone, runner, outdoor enthusiast or someone with no interest in the outdoors, not enjoying it and taking something from it!
What an amazing woman! Need to lace up my ahoes n get back out there. Love how she was like I wish I knew more English to better explain and then calls the really steep hill a bastard hill 👏👏👏
Such an incredible achievement! A reminder of the amazing feats the body and mind are capable of. Kristina is so humble and yet such a professional with no complaints despite the hardship. A great film, thank you for sharing on You Tube.
We can do much more than we think. We are in the process of making a UA-cam series about her training against the coldest and hottest stage race that Kristina will participate in at the end of the year. So a lot more is coming from us later this year.
Apart from a fantastic achievement, Kristina's generosity and empathy for the event and the history reveals the person - and all the other people - behind the running and this type of running around the world. An inspiration to all of us. Am from England and live in NZ. A little bit of hone for me too.
Amazing film. Inspiring and emotional, love just how much footage of the fells is has. That shot watching Kristina ascend Lords Rake is perfect. What an amazing person.
Great video from a great race of a great woman 😊💪. I enjoyed every single second. It is motivating to reach own limits. The best thing was at the end, no banana, but pizza and chips 😀😊👍👌
This was so BEAUTIFUL and INSPIRING! 😃I've got a bunch of 26.2 marathons under my belt. I want to do my first 50miler. I'm in my 50s now, training is getting hard on my body😣 but, this video makes me want to keep it up! 🏞🏃🏾♂️
Wow! Such a great runner and so much humility. To know what you want and be driven like that but to also be kind and grateful for the support, the challenge and nature is just wonderful. Good luck with future challenges.
That brought a few tears to my eyes and took my back to August 2011. I had forgotten the emotion, but not the fight or the mates for life you make. Excellent time 18:45 !!!! and great film. Captures the spirit and honesty that is the BGR. Welcome to the most understated club in the world :-)
I am going to attempt the Bob Graham Round next year. I had a wonderful experience at Cape Wrath back in August and am excited for the team support aspect of the Bob Graham. I look forward to training for it and seeing how it goes!
What a wonderful feature! It's beautifully shot and composed - the choice of scenes, angles, perspectives, transitions is masterly, as is the way you present action on the hill : solo, pairings, teamwork and those vital supporters, all backed up by thought provoking monologues on motivation. Such a powerful and inspirational emotional core. A lovely document of a fantastic achievement - Bjorn, Kristina, and the many, many, supporters - chapeau !
A truely inspirational experience it was, just to watch this. Must've felt so intense experiencing this yourself. Could learn a lot, not just from mental strength in running but being just so focused and humble, this is what truely matters. All the best on future attempts, may your body keep you afloat ;)
Always wanted to have a go at this round, I’ve done a few OMMs a few LAMMs back in the day also the Artic mountain marathon in North Sweden, now at 48 I need a hip replacement so I doubt it will ever happen…..😢
the climb at 43:42 is just insane, i surely wouldnt have able to climb that, that too a climb like that so many hours into the race, uve got to be really brave to to that
Just wish could’ve had translation in English sub titles at bottom (at end).. sounds like it was profound statement...awesome film otherwise! Inspiring and motivating!
Hey Kristina - super interesting and inspiring video! I'm very curious about which shoes yoyrun in. Do you run in minimalist shoes, zero drop, barefoot or "normal" trail shoes? :)
Hi Søren and Michael! I ran the BG Round in Hoka Speedgoats with the rocket plate in them, good grip and cushion. Leg leg I had the Torrent on which has a bit sharper grip if that makes sense :)
@@Kristinasmadsen Nice thank you for an answer. I was also curious to hear if a lot of ultra runners ran barefoot, but maybe it´s as many as in other running catagories? Recommendation: Altra shoes (fx Altra TimP) = 0 drop, cushion and space for your toes - the good from both worlds :)
@@srenmllerjepsen6137 I'm not into barefoot running - it's just not for me :) I tried Altra a few years ago but they made my calfs hurt so I went back to Hoka. Today I run in Scott Sports trailshoes as I signed with their team :)
I've done the Bob Graham, too, and the title definitely had me a bit wary of this film. Fell running and ultra running are very different cultures despite the superficial similarities. The respect shown to the history and ethos of fell running here was clear to see. Congratulations on your achievement and joining the club!
I am convinced, absolutely convinced that Bob Graham must have been a sadomasochist. To create something like that, and then encourage others to beat his time I can think of no other wording or reason. That said, well done Bob. You have created something so special and so challenging that so many have tried, failed and succeeded at that deserved a massive dollop of praise. As a walker more than a runner, and knowing the Lakes quite well, I can only feel humbled. Anyone that can even try this, let alone complete it, deserves the highest praise. To all involved in running, filming and producing this video. THANK YOU. I feel suitably inspired and I shall use 46:39 as an inspiration - I shall go and have a banana before heading out on this snowy day on Dartmoor.
Cracking film, never had the opportunity to visit the lakes yet, but the scenery in this film has moved it up the list. Also loving the pronunciation of the bop gray han round! Thanks for sharing.

That is so cool Mark!
Absolutely delightful
She's one tough cookie & I love the way she says Bop Gray Ham, very endearing. Go girl.
It’s not pronounced like that?! 😂

That was truly a great inspiration.
