19 August 2024. Evening Dispatch to Chief of Staff of the Air Force General Allvin, CC: POTUS & VPOTUS & SECDEF & Chairman & Joint Chiefs. BRAVO ZULU Sir on overhauling the Air Force so we deploy as units. This is sound strategy, and I commend the General for it. Why wouldn't we leverage the powerful bonds of friendship forged in garrison training in war? Aren't these relationships powerful force multipliers? I was one of many Veterans of the 9/11 Wars who deployed piecemeal: I met my unit in Fallujah, we were strangers to each other. We had a new commander every 6 weeks, if you can believe it - I regret to report I believe this was done so as many officers as possible could "punch their ticket" with a war-time command, and it predictably made for chaos in our unit.
Sir, I think you are steering the Air Force in the right direction by having us deploy as units. BRAVO ZULU, Keep it up, Sir. Fly, Fight, Win - King of Maneuver Warfare - World's Mightiest Air Force.
