Can't believe I forgot to mention this in the video. Fan noise is very good on this model. Even when connected to an external display, it's totally silent on the 'Silent' Armory Crate profile and mostly silent on 'Balanced' in normal use including 4k UA-cam. It does get a bit noisy gaming as you'd expect and you'll hear it for more demanding tasks like video editing as well.
I got the 2024 version with the 4070 GPU. I tried it for gaming and the fans aren’t that loud for me. I love the size and weight. It’s very mobile and not very heavy.

@douglarsen4801 wow dude that's a steal.. I spent 1400 on mine and that was on sale. It gets super hot. Idk why people complain about the fan so much it's a gaming laptop running good hardware
I have the same laptop except I installed a brand new Samsung 990 Pro SSD onto the second SSD slot of the laptop. It's getting a read/write speed of 700mbs instead of 7000mbs and I've had the issue with two other SSDs. Is this normal? Were you having the same issue?
thank you for this review, i've been looking into some laptops as an investment for college that have good color accuracy and performs well in gaming. It's currently my top option against some of the other models like the 2023 g14 or 2024 omen transcend 14.
I've recently been traveling and have done more photo editing exclusively on the G16's screen than I had before. I've realized that while it has a neutral tone unlikely to cause major color balancing issues, it's more washed out/undersaturated than I had realized, which could cause issues dialing in color on vibrant imagery. While I still think it is accurate enough to make content that isn't noticeably off color, it isn't ideal if you're studying design or another field where precise color usage will be evaluated as a factor in your assignments. Both the 2023 G14 and HP Omen Transcend will be more accurate.
I don't think weight will be an issue at all as it's only a bit over 4lbs which is quite good for a 16-inch laptop. You will need a fairly large bag, but anything that works for a 16-inch Macbook Pro should work for the G16.
If I may offer a piece of feedback for future videos: If you're going to show gaming performance, be sure to put the minimum/maximum frame rates as static figures somewhere, probably under the title of the one you're testing. It's almost impossible to read the performance overlay when watching on a phone. Good review otherwise.
Ive been pondering about whether i should buy this or not for around 3 months now, i genuinely don't know if i should buy now or wait for better laptops in the price range
I'm in a dilemma. In my country I can get the Lenovo LOQ with a i7-13650HX and with 16gb of DDR5 for a similar price to the Asus G16 What do u suggest I do?
I received the laptop, and it's excellent. However, I must point out that the screen gets hot from the fans. I'm not sure if this will have long-term effects.
