I think Shengnan planned to leave just for a day or two, so Lu Jin could settle things with his mother for good. Shengnan thought his mother would never accept her, but I think she trusted Lu Jin and his love. She just didn't want to be the one forcing him to make a choice.

at least the two lovers have forgiven and forgotten about their 'horrible' acting in episodes 21-23 🤣with the terrible twist of having a half brother being an asshole too.
lu jin not making lu zheng his enemy instead letting their family ties stand the test of time is a nice beginning to the end of a long feud which initially had nothing to do with the two brothers.
am still not understanding why mdm zheng hong just won't let shengnan be with lu jin they are engaged and lu jin is determined to be with shengnan with or without her consent.
on another note, shengnan did not surrender she left because she allowed mdm zheng hong to win (supposedly) and so called 'keep' her son to herself knowing full well lu jin will still come back to her.
