Not going away just other options. Transmission shops use air because they can get oil all over them in the disassembly table and still works. So yea not going away but its going to have a small use
@@jeremyr722 one day we had the saftey guy show up and set up a device in the shop, month later found it was a decibel meter. The noise was so loud that we all had to wear 👂🏼 to plugs. Yes the air tools were that loud. Fast forward few years all air tools band. We got electric, even the 1 inch was electric. Much quieter, safer and crazy more productive!!
One tool requires a couple $150 battery's to operate in a shop all day. That pneumatic stuff requires a several thousand dollar compressor with a moisture filtering system to operate all day...
Unfortunately, yes, I work in the industrial manufacturing industry, and 99 percent of pneumatic tools are gone. There's are still applications for some pneumatic tools.
Honestly for the most part airtools more of a shop thing now and even then usually only for the toughest jobs. Other than that everything's going cordless now, it's kinda crazy.
I love my milwaukee stuff, I have a belief that if you have available air and its not a PITA to use it then you should. Air tools are (usually) cheaper and you dont have to worry about charging batteries, plus there are still air tools that don't have cordless counterparts.
Yes they are, electric last longer and powerful. No limit by the length of air hose. And the most important thing way more safer, ever have an air hose bust and start whipping around? Plus the huge trip hazard they present.
100% there are plenty of ineffective and less efficient electric tools that will be hard pressed to be beat by electric for a while yet. (Think of air palm sanders and a descaling tool) we love our electric tools in the shop but we have to have air still for many applications
We run both types, air and electric, nail guns at work. Of course running a cordless nailer while hanging trim is way more convenient. I do run into more jams And I have to keep a nail set on hand. Electric nail guns don’t hold up as well, either. YMMV
Ye, electric basically as good and a lot more convenient. But if you get a good deal theres not reason to knock air tools, like i said, basically the same performance in my experience
Expensive, loud, and need constant maintenance, what's not to love? I'll take electric anytime so I don't have to feed my tools smog piss and then spend hours cleaning them to get them working again.
Air tools are cheaper last longer with proper maintenance. And if you accidentally drop them in a pan full of oil they will keep going! And show me an electric hammer that is comparable to air! Electric has its place but air tools are here to stay!
Not if i have anything to do with it! I have two air impacts, an air ratchet and i use em often. Cordless for away jobs, air in the shop 💪
So, in short, Yes they are lol
Problem is shops with shitty air compressors killing your air tool with water.

I'm new in the technician game , are the air ratchets any good? Been eyeing some but haven't pulled the trigger yet
Yeah, because every shop ive been at, been to has had piss poor maintained air compressors. Wet air kills air tools.
No body oils them daily like it says right next to the hook up.
If only they hired people who were mechanicly inclined and had the ambition to walk over and purge the tank every once in a while.
I just bought the Milwaukee M12 stubby impact 550ft/lbs cant wait to use it

i use both at work and tbh i prefer air for a 1/2 impact but the electric is just so much easier to grab quick but i prefer the 3/8th electric impact
Air tools will never need recharging, just maintenance and conditioning
& a powerful enough air source..

My ‘mg725 still working strong like day I bought it over 15 yrs ago just used it yesterday
Battery operated outside of work shops are the future of all tools
Yes and for good reason too , screw dragging that air hose around 😂

Air tools are cheaper if one maintains them, grease and oil. Otherwise most shops I've been at the compressor pushes as much water as air.

Air tools are need for that power some times working in busy production body shop
That is for the past. Battery powered tools are more reliable. My coworkers are always asking me if they can borrow my cordless impacts
At home and in car shops yeah, in heavy industry, explosive atmosphere environments, places that require them things to spin all day. Hell no
Imo you only need air when electric won't work. Which is becoming increasingly more rare.
100% there are plenty of ineffective and less efficient electric tools that will be hard pressed to be beat by electric for a while yet. (Think of air palm sanders and a descaling tool) we love our electric tools in the shop but we have to have air still for many applications
All big shop air compressors require electric to operate...
@@Stickbow1980 no way
No, the offers are now mostly in onlineshops.
We used are tools but then we kept getting water in the lines so we went electric

Where is this btw
Pawn shop
In the words of an Imperial Captain: *ABSOLUTELY NOT!*
Not many of us have a garage anymore. So im stuck with battery options
My Milwaukee Impact stomps on my Snapon HP6500
Still need an air compresor even with battery tools why spend the extra money
passed my buddy my new air matco 90 degree grinder and he is sold
Heck no. I still use air tools over cordless. You can't beat air tool power.

If you don’t mind loss off heading they’re great
theyre just too expensive and not many people wanna have a hose running to their guns and s good air pressurizer is expensive too
Using electric power tools sucks when you are ocd and have have to charge your battery every time you use them.
I think they will. The electric tools are getting better and better.
lol I’ll take my air 1” over battery any day
I’ll keep my air tools!

I still use my air tools.
Ur old.
Air will always be king
I want a couple of those
Yes because they're justifiably expensive. When something else is cheaper AND more logical. It kinda just fades. It'll have its true fans but bye air.
They gotta be behind glass 😹
I use both but yeah 👍
I hope not!
I hope not but It does seem like all they care about selling us is plastic battery powered tools. Hmmm conspiracy
Just the outdated ones

Yes
They arent going extinct because the only way the amish use power tools
No they still have their place
Agreed
Did I win
Those all look stolen ....
How does something "look" stolen exactly?
Yes and no
Yeah.. I feel that
