That older picture was not of Pernell, it was the "High Chaparral" actor Henry Darrow! I know because my Mom knew Cameron Mitchell, we used to go swimming in his pool.

You made an error in one of the actor profiles. "Harry Holcombe" is first shown in a couple of still shots. But then, following up in the live-action clip, it isn't Harry Holcombe, but actor; Franchot Tone. Tone was notable for co-starring in the classic 1935 film version of "Mutiny on The Bounty". In later years he guest starred in various television shows such as "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" and "The Twilight Zone", in a really memorable episode entitled; "The Silence". Franchot passed away in 1968 at the age of 63.
Not for me They made mistake casting him If they had chosen better actor for role of Adam the death of Dan Blocker wouldn't have been so painful for the TV series

It was sad that "Hoss" (Dan Blocker) died during the show's run. They worked his death into an episode, which I have mixed feelings about. It was a good way to honor this gentle giant. "Adam's " loss wasn't thst great since he only lasted two of the 14 seasons abd the show went on without him, unlike Dan, whi once he was gone, the show began losing its luster. His son was built justice him and made a guest appearance as "Able," a own learner at the school in Walnut Grove. Caroline Ingles was filling in as a teacher and encouraged thr other kids to help Able learn to read
You have to remember Pernell didn’t die he just left the show and a lot of fans were disappointed and didn’t know if he would come back or not but Dan died and fans were traumatized because of his death and knew he couldn’t possibly return.
